Description:
1. SITUATION
Situation Time: 19:00 hrs
Lighting: Dusk, Last light at 20:20 hrs
Weather: Cloudy, 3Km Visibility, Storm is foretastedRussian backed separatist forces are dangerously close to taking control of the vital NATO stronghold of Bornhold, which can be used to hinder the flow of naval vessels in the Baltic. Due to this, NATO command has decided to take the risk and deploy US forces, starting with your Ranger platoon to the region. The first order of business will be to take control over the Western half of the vital MSR Picard, which controls access to the center of the island from the West.
A. Enemy Forces:
About a company sized force in total, consisting mainly of infantry barricaded along the MSR, motorized transport and some light Armour. These troops have some training and are equipped in a similar fashion to the Russian Ground Forces. They are highly mobile and not afraid to take the initiative.
B. Friendly Forces:
Your force (4th Ranger Battalion, Z company, A platoon) is located at FOB Almegaard, with Arial assets located at AFB Almegaard
1) Equipment: Unlimited small arms.
2) Surveillance: micro UAVs
3) Ground Vehicles: 2x M2 HMMWV, 2x Mk19 HMMWV, 2x 2 door HMMWV
4) Fixed Wing: 1x A10
5) Rotary Wing: 1x MH-6, 1x UH-60M
6) Naval: None
Other friendly forces: None
C. Civilian Presence:
Civilians are expected to be concentrated at the major population centers and evacuated from the country side and thus the combat zone.
2. Mission
Your force is to clear MSR Picard from PL Dawn to PL Dusk of all hostile forces.
3. Execution
Your unit is to advance no further than PL Dusk and within 2km of the MSR.
ROE: You are free to engage all armed personnel. Minimize collateral and civilian casualties.
