    Preliminaries

    A. Security

    • Location – Selakano AFB
    • Sentries – None will be necessary, as long as the convoy leaves in a timely manner.

    B. Weather

    • Weather Forecast – None
    • last light – 19:20
    • Visibility – 3Km
    • Moon State – No Moon
    • Cloud cover – Partly Cloudy

    C. Task Organization

    • Appointments – Anvil Actual (Phoenix) is the CO, with Bravo Section Actual Taking lead afterwards, then according to rank
    • Task org. – Bravo will be the escort detachment, maneuvering ahead and around the convoy to provide maximum security and scout out ahead of the convoy. Alpha will be the primary security for the Convoy. Romeo and Anvil will be manning the trucks.

    D. Ground Brief Orientation

    • Map familiarization – There is a moderate amount of low walls and rocks providing cover and plenty of foliage and dead ground providing ample concealment. The terrain to the South of Panagia is mostly flat, with only one dominating hill line to the East of it. The area between Chalkeia and Panagia is several dominating hills with limited areas for the convoy to hide in during a halt and 3 bridges over dry river beds with an extreme amount of foliage. The area between Chalkeia and the end of the mountain Range to the North has the greatest density of hills.
    • Enemy – Ambush areas a probable at any point along the route, especially near the bridges, as detection of enemy infantry hiding in the dry river beds is virtually impossible. The towns of Chalkeia and Panagia are good ambush positions, and thus need to be fully covered as the convoy travels through.
    • Friendly – The main highway will be used by the convoy proper, with the exception of one small detour. Any point along that route that allows the convoy to be protected against long range RPG fire while being halted and is defensible should be identified and used.

    1. Situation

    A. Enemy Forces

    • Strengths – probably several sections of irregular infantry with light vehicle support.
    • Locations – At any point along the route.
    • Weapons – LMGs, RPGs and HMGs mounted on technicals.
    • Equipment – No mines expected
    • Obstacles – No obstruction expected along the route.
    • Defensive fire positions – Possible temporary positions at strategic hills, bridges and towns along the route.
    • Air threat – None
    • Artillery Support – None expected
    • Likely intentions and reactions – Once the convoy moves, there may be hostile movement to intercept the convoy or to set up ambushes.

    B. Friendly Forces

    • BattleGroup commanders intent – Deliver the 4 supply vehicles from Selakano AFB to Pyrgos FOB while avoiding the hostile territory in the Didymos mountain range. They are not sympathetic to any particular faction and have little tolerance for the GNF. This means that a GNF presence is not expected in any towns as long as civilians are present and that any obvious and prolonged presence along the highway such as a roadblock would be reported by the civilian population..
    • Friendly forces at Selekano AFB and Pyrgos FOB.

    C. Civilian Population

    • Numbers – A large number of civilians.
    • Location – All along the route and primarily in the towns.
    • Vehicles – Cvilian cars of various types travelling along the main Highway.
    • Sympathies – Neutral.

    2. Mission

    • To move and protect the 4 supply vehicles in order to ensure their safe arrival to Pyrgos FOB.

    3. Execution

    A. Concept of Operations

    • C.O’s Intent – To move the convoy proper from cover to cover, marked as holding positions and to thoroughly inspect any potential ambush point along the route using any means available, in order to provide the maximum possible security for the convoy proper under the circumstances.
    • Scheme of maneuver – The convoy proper consisting of the supply vehicles manned by Anvil and Romeo and one Hunter manned by Alpha will move between holding points along the marked route as rapidly as possible once the next holding point and the route leading to it secured. Bravo will move in 2 Hunters between Battle Positions and inspect the route that the convoy proper will take.
    • Main Effort – Bravo will be the escort detachment, maneuvering ahead and around the convoy to provide maximum security and scout out ahead of the convoy and inspect any potential ambush position. Alpha will be the primary security for the Convoy. Romeo and Anvil will be manning the trucks.

    B. Mission Statements

    • Bravo Section – Will man 2 Hunters and use Fire and Maneuver to move between the Battle Positions. However, before the maneuver element reaches the next Battle Position, it will inspect all potential ambush areas while en route, except for towns, which should be covered instead by the Base of Fire element. If the potential ambush area is too dangerous or difficult to search and there is no risk of collateral damage (such as the highly obscured dry riverbeds underneath the bridges) , then search by fire is to be used, including the use of grenades if line of sight is obscured. Once the path between the current Holding Position of the convoy proper and the next holding position is clear, Bravo-Section will inform Anvil and be prepared to provide over-watch for it.
    • Alpha-2 – Will man 1 Hunter and stay with the Convoy Proper. They will move rapidly between holding positions with the convoy proper and will operate a mirco UAV to help maintain security around the convoy while at holding positions. They must also be prepared to support Bravo Section if the support is needed, or if one of the Bravo Section Vehicles is lost.
    • Convoy Proper (Anvil and Romeo) – Will man the 4 supply vehicles (HEMTT Rearm, HEMTT Repair, HEMTT Refuel, HEMTT Medical). Once the path to the next Holding Position is declared clear by Bravo-Section, the convoy Proper will move as rapidly as possible to the next Holding Position. While waiting at any of the holding positions, Anvil will operate a mirco UAV to Bravo Section as it scouts our ahead of the Convoy Proper.

    • Summary – Bravo will be the escort detachment, maneuvering ahead and around the convoy to provide maximum security and scout out ahead of the convoy and inspect any potential ambush position. Alpha will be the primary security for the Convoy and act as a reserve for Bravo. Romeo and Anvil will be manning the sprint between Holding Positions once the path is secured and will operate UAVs with Alpha to assist with security and scouting while halted.

    C. Coordinating instructions

    • Timings – Bravo should set off no later that 10 minutes after missions start. Average time Bravo should take to secure the path to the next Holding Position and the position itself should me 30 Minutes. Total mission time should be 2 hours and 10 minutes.
    • Preliminary Moves – None.
    • Coordinating Fire – Battle Positions and Holding Positions are Marked on the map.
    • Re-Org Instructions – The Holding Position currently used by the Convoy Proper is the current Rally Point.

    • Actions-on:
    • Convoy Proper Halt at Holding Point – All Drivers Dismount, provide security and send up a micro UAV.
    • Suspicious civilian Vehicle – Avoid if possible. If avoidance with Convoy proper is not possible, disable vehicle.
    • Communications Failure – Find nearest person to relay, or use Bluforce Tracker
    • Hunter disabled – If position of hunter is not safe, then the vehicle is to be abandoned. If at or near Holding Position, to be repaid by Repair HEMTT.
    • Convoy Proper Halts between Holding Positions – Drivers dismount while situation is remedied and Bravo Section moves in closer to the Convoy Proper and tightens security.

    4. Service Support

    • Kit requirements – BlueForce Trackers (built into vehicles). Micro UAVs (located in Rearm HEMTT). one or two Titan Launchers in Bravo to attack entrenched positions or technical at stand-off ranges.
    • CASEVAC – Go to the Holding Position currently used by the convoy proper and use HEMTT Medical (can be used as medical building)
    • Rearm – Go to the Holding Position currently used by the convoy proper and use HEMTT Rearm (has VAS)
    • Repair – Go to the Holding Position currently used by the convoy proper and use HEMTT Repair

    5. Command and Signals

    • Radio Channels
    • 1 on 148 for Command
    • 2 on 148 Reserved for Bravo Section
    • 3 on 148 Reserved for Convoy Proper (Gold)
    • Call Signals
    • Bravo
    • Gold – Convoy Proper (Anvil, Romeo and Alpha while attached)

    TASK #1 DETAIL
    ———————————

Description: Move Gold from Selekano AFB to HP-1

    Completion Status: 100%
    Comments:
Bravo moved to HP-1, then engaged an ambush force of approx 12 men in Panagia and about 16 men at BP-1, then Gold moved out of Selekano AFB to HP-1 at about H+20 minutes and en route possibly killed 1 civilian in a traffic accident (may have been killed before hand) and injured another by dragging him under a truck from Feres to HP-1 (a journy of about 2.2Km).

    ———————————
    TASK #2 DETAIL
    ———————————

Description: Move Gold from HP-1 to HP-2

    Completion Status: 100%
    Comments:
Bravo moved from BP-1 to BP-2 while engaging several sections worth of infatry close to BP-1 and 2 more sections worth of infantry and 2 technicals near HP-2. Bravo received a KIA in an ambush at one of the bridges, after which Bravo returned to gold at HP-1 for rearm, then moved back out and secured HP-2, after which Gold Moved out to HP-2.

    ———————————
    TASK #3 DETAIL
    ———————————

Description: Move Gold from HP-2 to HP-3

    Completion Status: 100%
    Comments:
Bravo moved to BP-3 without incident but detected with the help of a UAV flight from Alpha-2, a significant enemy infantry presence of Troop strength reinforced with 3 technicals at the valley just North of BP-4 and HP-3. Bravo was reinforced with Alpha-2 and engaged and destroyed all enemy forces in a prolonged engagement, receiving 1 KIA and several WIA. Once the area was secured, Gold then moved to HP-3 under the cover of Bravo, using a new plan wherein Gold would not halt at HP-3, but move straight to Pyrgos FOB as a single convoy with Bravo.

    ———————————
    TASK #4 DETAIL
    ———————————

Description: Move Gold from HP-3 to Pyrgos FOB

    Completion Status: 100%
    Comments:
Gold moved as a single convoy with Bravo from HP-3 but without halting there toward Pyrgos FOB while still following the pre-planned route. Just before the first bridge past HP-3, the convoy halted due to an obstruction caused by an overturned quad bike, then resumed transit through the obstruction after it and the bridge was investigated by Bravo. Then the convoy reached Pyrgos FOB without further incident at approx H+02h15

    ———————————
    ADDITIONAL DETAIL
    ———————————
    Comments:

7 Darter UAVs where lost due mostly to running out of fuel, with one needing to be shot down due to malfunction and at least one other lost due to enemy fire.

The cTab system (including BlueForce Tracker) worked without issues and shows great promise.
