Scheduled for Sunday the 16th of March
Description:
1. SITUATIONSituation Time: 04:30 hrsWeather: Mist/Fog, Reduced Visibility
Forecast: Persistant Mist/Fog
Sunrise: +/- 06:00 hrsWelcome to the war on poaching.
Rhino in South Africa are currently being killed by poachers at just over two a day, a rate that will soon have one of
Africa’s largest and most beautiful creatures back on the endangered species list, and if nothing is done about it
completely extinct within the next decade. Public and international pressure placed on the government has forced the
president to declare a state of emergency in the Frontier National park – which stretches from the SA-Nam border on the
west coast along the border with Zimbabwe all the way to the SA-Moz border in the East. With this declared state of
emergency SA’s premier special forces unit, Zulu-Alpha, has been deployed to the area, with the express goal of reducing
the number of poachers in the area to zero. ZA’s mandate is much the same as that of the Malawian game rangers was in the
80’s which was basically to shoot first, shoot last and make sure that there was no one left when the smoke cleared to ask
questions. While SA has decided to take a hardline stance on poaching our neighbors have not had the strength of will to take the
same action. As such ZA troops are not allowed to follow poachers into foreign territory and to avoid unnecessary
casualties a clearly defined area of operations has been created. (Map to follow)

Map of the AOA. Enemy Forces: The total number of poachers in AO are expected to be near company strength, though co-ordination between
the various groups is highly unlikely. It is expected that the poachers will be limited to small arms such as Soviet era
AK47’s and the like, the full extent of their armament is however unknown. Satellite imaging shows that the poachers are
spread out in the AO.B. Friendly Forces: The SAS Inkohliso has been moved to the North West Coast of South Africa to be used as a mobile
staging area. ZA troops have access to a full assortment of small arms and ammunition. The South African UN contingent
destined for the Central African Republic has a small training base in the area which Zulu-Alpha has been given permission
to use this as a FOB, designated FOB Benecala. Two WY-55 Hellcats from the 2nd SOAR wing of the SAAF (callsign: Angel 1 and 2) and two SWCC patrol boats from the SAN
Recce Brigade (callsign: Badger 1 and 2) have been made available for ZA use during the operation.2. Mission
ZA is to insert into the area of operation, search for and eliminate all poachers in the AO. A satellite will
be tasked to the area to ensure that ZA troops do not stray out of the AO or into foreign territory.3. Execution
The CO may proceed as he/she sees fit, but must remain in the designated AO.4. Service and Support

March 12, 2014 at 21:13 #3296In to CO
Are we allowed to deviate from the frequencies, must the badger assets be manned by badger members and not ZA, where is our FOB/starting area, what freedom do we have to move in airspace out of the are marked with the red rectangle, when is the first light and what is the weather forecast?
As a note, all those per-determined frequencies are both SW and LR frequencies.
March 12, 2014 at 22:43 #3297Starting area will be on the SAS Inkohliso, which is currently steaming north from Saldanha. Final location is still to be determined but will be in the ocean to the West of the AO, the location of FOB Benecala will be added to the intel when the position of the SAS Inkohlio is updated.
Air assets are allowed to move throughout the entire area but not move North across the Orange River and any targets to the South of the AO will be designated civilian so as to avoid any bad publicity from killing civilians. Better to err on the side of caution.
Freqs are a guidelines, inline with ZA standards (unless i have gotten them wrong) but seeing as you are the boss you can make them whatever you want.
Meta-Game note – The Badger call signs were put in mostly cause the FSF has them attached and to offer an alternative to the drop off by helicopter thing that we often do, a ZA player/s will have to be Badger. How the CO works with this and maximises entertainment for everyone is up to him.
As a note you being pedantic 🙂
March 13, 2014 at 09:43 #3298I’m in for sure. Rhino hunters beware!
