Starting area will be on the SAS Inkohliso, which is currently steaming north from Saldanha. Final location is still to be determined but will be in the ocean to the West of the AO, the location of FOB Benecala will be added to the intel when the position of the SAS Inkohlio is updated. Air assets are allowed to move throughout the entire area but not move North across the Orange River and any targets to the South of the AO will be designated civilian so as to avoid any bad publicity from killing civilians. Better to err on the side of caution. Freqs are a guidelines, inline with ZA standards (unless i have gotten them wrong) but seeing as you are the boss you can make them whatever you want. Meta-Game note – The Badger call signs were put in mostly cause the FSF has them attached and to offer an alternative to the drop off by helicopter thing that we often do, a ZA player/s will have to be Badger. How the CO works with this and maximises entertainment for everyone is up to him. As a note you being pedantic :)

    Thank you for the update.

We are using a WARNORD as an order from higher up, so the more orders/restrictions that are in there, the less freedom the CO has. So if it says something must be done a certain way, then we assume that there is a good reason for it.

As a request from the CO, can we deploy to FOB Benecala early, so as to take into account logistical and technical issues that can arise from naval logistics (The ship is a bit broken for MP and doesnt work right for launching boats, only retrieving them)?

    D. Ground Brief Orientation

    • Map familiarization – The TAOR has no urban environments, has dense rolling hills with many forest blocks and plenty of cover.
    • Enemy – The forests in the valleys are obvious ambush positions as well as reverse slope ambush positions.
    • Friendly – Key topographical features (marked as objectives) are key to gain Marco terrain superiority and to neutralize ambushes, as well as providing easy HLSs.

    1. Situation

    A. Enemy Forces

    • Strengths – Expected to be near company strength
    • Locations – Paroling the TAOR and possible ambushes.
    • Weapons – small arms, eg: AK-47

be tasked to the area to ensure that ZA troops do not stray out of the AO or into foreign territory.

    3. Execution

    A. Concept of Operations

    • C.O’s Intent – To sweep the TAOR from North to South in a safe and systematic method using mutually supporting sections and limited air support.
    • Scheme of maneuver – ZA Troop will move from RP-1 and clear OBJs Adrian and Beverly, leaving behind Alpha section at the first objective. Then Bravo will move to a position to cover Alpha as it clears OBJ Celeste, then once there, Alpha will cover Bravo as it clears OBJ Dexter and so on and so forth (Troop level alternating over-watch)
    • Main Effort – Alpha and Bravo clears OBJs to clear the TAOR while Anvil co-ordinates.

    B. Mission Statements

    • Alpha and Bravo Section – Clear their designated objectives as they are assigned (with Alpha tending to be on the Western side of the TAOR and Bravo to the East) and Support the other section when not assaulting another objective.
    • Anvil – handle logistical and medical re-supply and CAS, as well as coordinate ZA elements in order to enable ZA to control the TAOR.
    • Summary – Alpha and Bravo clears OBJs to clear the TAOR while Anvil co-ordinates.

    C. Coordinating instructions

    • Preliminary Moves – Anvil will ferry the Troop to FUP-1 (FOB Benecala). Once organized, the Troop will move to RP-1 and await orders to move into the TAOR.
    • Coordinating Fire – Each OBJ will double as a BP (battle position) for CAS. Section leaders may request targets for Anvil CAS, using a simplified procedure, where Anvil has greater control over CAS.
    • Re-Org Instructions – RP-1 is the first point for organizing and rallying. The last cleard OBJ for that section is to be used as a current RP.

    Actions-on :
    • Enemy Ambush while moving to an OBJ – peel back to last OBJ and determine of other section needs to support.
    • Sighting of enemy vehicles – Engage with automatic fire from range or call in CAS
    • Enemy forces coming Outside the TAOR– Do not fire unless hostile intent is confirmed. Then report this event and engage.
    • HLS – Select last secured OBJ and specifically a flat, clear area, preferably not at the top of a hill where the HLS is secured. Make sure that no hostile forces withing 1km have LOS on HLS.

    4. Service Support

    • Kit requirements – Standard Kit.
    • CASEVAC – Handled within Section. If extraction is needed, follow actions-on HLS.
    • Resupply – Contact Anvil for resupply, then follow actions-on HLS.

    5. Command and Signals

    Radio Frequencies (in MHz):
    • 50 for Command
    • 65 for Alpha and Romeo section
    • 75 for Bravo section
    • 320 for Alpha-1
    • 350 for Alpha-2
    • 380 for Bravo-1

    TASK #1 DETAIL

    ———————————

    Description:

Secure all the objectives in the TAOR in order to clear the TAOR of poachers

    Completion Status:

    40%

    Comments:

Objectives Adrian was secured without contest, but was assaulted by poachers from the south and Alpha held with air support from Anvil. Bravo swung North around Adrian, finding (with the help of Anvil) and eliminating 2 patrols and then moving onto Beverly. Anvil caused major damage using guns and rockets on a 3rd patrol at the NW end of the TAOR.

Bravo then moved to a position to support Alpha between Adrian and Beverly and engaged some contacts in a valley to the SW of Beverly, receiving a one WIA. Alpha then moved to and secured Celeste without contest. Bravo then moved East to destroy the remnants of the enemy force they last engaged when moving to their OP and received heavy casualties. Almost all of Bravo became WIA and Alpha was relocated to their position to assist.

Alpha and Bravo re-organized and Bravo was resupplied with the help of Anvil. All units moved to Eugine with light contact en-route from Dexter. ZA troop then got ready to assault Eugine but the objective was aborted when Anvil crashed in an accident while Firing guns on a target compound between Eugine and Dexter. The troop then moved in to secure that compound, where Bravo received more WIA. Anvil crew survived the crash and where brought back to the ZA troop OP just West of Eugine, with the area under control (but Dexter not yet secured).

The mission was ended there due to over half of the Troop becoming WIA, the support of Anvil being lost and time constraints.

    ADDITIONAL DETAIL

    ———————————

    Comments:

Bravo section may have been too aggressive when deciding how to deal with an enemy force and not fixing them properly before maneuvering to finish in their Fire and Maneuver drills.

The hellcat performed superbly as a command and resupply platform, with moderate use as CAS, due the pilot and co-pilot not co-coordinating well to engage targets.
