Description:

1. SITUATION

Situation Time: 06:15 hrs

Weather: 1.5Km Visibility, Foggy

Helvantis separatists have taken much of Helvantis, with the unofficial support of Russian advisers, equipment and troops, which the Russian government is denying. The capital and AFB Dingo are still under the control of the Helvantian Government and but will inevitably loose them to separatists forces. Due to this and verified human rights atrocities, the US president has approved the deployment of a US Army rapid reaction force from Germany to Helvantis in order to halt the Insurgent advance.

A. Enemy Forces: The enemy forces consists of two Separatist companies; One mechanized and one infantry, with light air support probable. There is a small number of Russian support in the form of mechanized and\or armored support.

The Separatist forces are situated to the South of Phase Line Fox, around the town of Abstwind, which is a Separatist staging area being used to prepare for their final assault on the Capital (Grammendorf).

Separatist forces have captured at least one Mi-8 armed with rockets.

The Russian support is limited and in the form of a limited number of reserve T-72s and some more modern BMPs with infantry

 

B. Friendly Forces: Your platoon is located at FOB Raccoon, with your command element located at AFB Dingo

1) Equipment: A single squad resupply crate at the FOB with much more supplies back at the FOB

2) Surveillance: Several micro UAVs

3) Ground Vehicles: 1x HMG HMMWV and 1x GMG HMMWV at FOB, 1x Up-armoured truck and 2x UGVs at the AFB

4) Fixed Wing: None

5) Rotary Wing: None

6) Naval: None

Other friendly forces: A US Army mechanized company, consisting of M1A2 Abrams’s, Bradleys, Linebackers and infantry. They’re main focus will be defending the city itself and protecting the Western flank and have an air defense umbrella around OBJ Jackal. Their M1s should also engage enemy armour moving up MSR Wolf.

 

C. Civilian Presence: There is a small civilian presence still located in the capital and should remain neutral.

 

2. Mission

Your force is to prevent the enemy from taking either OBJ Husky or FOB Raccoon. If that is not possible, your force is to slow the enemy advance as much as possible.

 

3. Execution

Your force is to cross PL Fox and hold OBJ Husky, which should have a minimal enemy force. Your force should then hold it against any enemy incursions. If the enemy attack is too strong, you are to fall back to PL-Fox and use it as a secondary line of defense. If that line is overrun the you are to fall back to the city. If the enemy capture of the city seems inevitable, then you are to fall back to AFB Dingo.
