Can redo phase 1 (though never actually did it in the first place with all the DSLAM issues that night) on Monday night if it suits you guys. Thanks.

ADSL was fixed – so I should be good for the next session. Current getting a 8 Mb/s downstream connection to the DSLAM. And it seems the international bandwidth issue has been resolved too (could play on overseas servers for the first time in weeks).

Question. ACRE2 for next session, or TFR?

Had lots of issues with the Bellville DSLAM on selection night – the reason for me dropping out, reconnecting, only to be dropped again. Sorry Phoenix…

I’m suppose to have a 10Mb/s link. It currently syncs at below 1Mb at the moment and is unstable as hell (gets worse at night it seems as traffic increases). I’ve heard that Bellville exchange was upgraded last week We/Thu and think this is the cause of my Internet connectivity woes. Have a support call/line fault logged and waiting for a response.

And this on top of the 4 week old f”up between Telkom ISP and SAIX that has decreased latency to International servers 3x. They seemed to have “fixed” it by aggressive traffic shaping/router QoS – as ICMP now shows acceptable response, but game traffic (UDP) is still 3x slower. Fortunately local traffic is fine. I had a 16ms ping on the Zulu Alpha server on Monday night (lowest I think). But means jacksh*t if the damn port keeps on failing and resyncing on the DSLAM.

Mondo, exactly what is the problem?

Basic technical details of how it works.

The setup link downloads file main.yml and passes it to PW6. The file instructs PW6 to download the required mods from http://srv1.zulu-alpha.co.za/repo/main/

PW6 does the mod downloads to your game’s user tree – typically C:\Users\username\My Documents\ARMA3.

Good news is that download is local.

Bad news is that you cannot/should not use existing downloads/installs of those mods – as these can differ in version/whatever from those hosted on the Zulu Alpha server.

PW6 will treat the mod downloads as a collection. To launch ARMA3 with these mods, right click in PW6 on the collection and create a standard desktop shortcut. This can be used without loading PW6 first. Similarly you can also create an empty collection and create a shortcut for that for deafault ARMA3 (no mods). Or create your own collections and dragging and dropping the mods you want to enable for that.

Before launching the shortcut though, launch Teamspeak and join the Zulu Alpha TS server.

In ARMA3, go to multiplayer and set the HOST filter to ZA and the BATTLE-EYE filter to default. This will display the 3 Zulu Alpha servers – and the other 2 ZA (Mweb) Arma3 servers.

Weekends should be okay.  I would prefer sooner rather than later – it sucks not being able to participate officially, with no other local ARMA3 combat servers available at night (droë mond te sit). 😉

Thanks Ox – will do so.

Are the Zulu-Alpha servers local? ARMA3 MP screen is showing horrible latency of over 2.5 seconds to these servers.

There is a problem with SAIX – but as I understand it only impacts international links. My latency to international servers increased 3x since Sunday. Speedtests confirms (60ms to Jhb servers, almost 600ms to UK servers). Similar reports posted the last few days on mybroadband’s forums by others, pointing to SAIX. And it won’t be the first time that they stuffed up international routing tables on their side…

ARMA3 shows under 60ms latency to the MWeb(?) wasteland servers. So I’m not sure why I’m seeing 2500ms to the Zulu-Alpha servers.. But will try tonight and see how it goes.

    Hi guys

Am a bit confused as to when training/selection starts. Were online last night at 20:30 in assembly area in TS, but ZA members were busy with a mission (it seems) on server1.

Will appreciate a heads up as to what, where and when.

    Thanks.

    Me too. Tonight isn’t it?

Would have posted earlier, but I get almost 90% of the time a timeout when clicking a ZA URL.. Very frustrating…
