1. SITUATION

Zulu-Alpha successfully advanced up to and secured Phase line Alpha, eliminating any entrenched enemy positions that would have been bypassed, however, Hammer did take significant casualties and are no longer combat effective and lost their Reaper CAS. Resupply units have been brought up to Phase line Alpha and  Zulu-Alpha has regrouped resupplied.

In order to maintain any offensive operations in the central plains, the main route into it, MSR Hauberk, must be completely secured. Zulu-Alpha must complete its original tasking of spearheading this operation to secure this MSR and co-ordinating friendly assets to this end.

A. Enemy Forces:

The Russian MSV still has the bulk of their defences in the vicinity of Phase line Bravo, though no T-72s are expected to be remaining there, and a Tunguska that was also destroyed, though there may be one more further North.

The remaining forces have prepared defences around the vicinity of phase line Bravo, consisting of about 1 infantry platoons garrisoning key structures along the MSR and 1 mechanized platoon in entrenched positions. There is still an MBT platoon in reserve, likely to be deployed in reaction to an attack.

They also are expected to have mortar support, possible fixed-wing or helicopter gunship support from the nearby Airport.

One minefield on the MSR just South of Phase line Alpha was destroyed, however, this is still one on the side road at Phase line Alpha, and one further North, part of the way to Phase line Bravo.

There is still the SA-20 operating in the North and the enemy also has a small number MANPADs, though not as many as is usually expected.

B. Friendly Forces:

Zulu-Alpha is located at Phase line Alpha, with the M2 HMMWV, 1x M2A3 Bradleys and resupply trucks, along with their primary crates. At FOB Anvil, is where reinforcement will become available as needed, more resupply vehicles, an infantry transport truck, the other HMMWV (Mk.19), a backup M2A3 Bradley and Attached Ghostrider with an MH-60L DAP.

Zulu-Alpha has been given priority fires from a 155mm M109 Paladin, call-sign Haymaker.

The UAV was lost and due to the tight timeline, has not been replaced. Command has not authorized another fixed-wing asset due to the loss of the previous one and the strong Anti-Air umbrella. Due to the lack of Air-to-Air capability for the force, an M6 Linebacker has been brought up for use by Badger as an alternative vehicle.

1) Equipment: Standard equipment. The two Bradleys each has 2 Javelin missiles and a CLU, and a Stinger. The same with the backup Bradley. Resupply crates at FOB Anvil

2) Surveillance: None

3) Ground Vehicles: 2x M2A3 ERA Bradley IFV, 1x M6 Linebacker, 1x HMMWV SOV [Mk19], 1x HMMWV SOV [M2], 1x MTVR, 1x MTVR (Repair), 1x MTVR (Ammo), 1x HMMWV Ambulance, 1x UGV. Set of support vehicles also on the USS Freedom.

5) Rotary Wing: 1x MH-60L DAP [4 Pylons]

6) Naval: None

Other friendly forces: 1x 155mm tube, callsign Haymaker, with 32 rounds of HE.

C. Civilian Presence: None.

2. Mission

1. Secure Phase line Bravo
2. Minimize friendly casualties and unnecessary collateral damage to civilian buildings and heritage sites (eg: castles).

3. General Instructions

Using artillery support, optional CAS if Ghostrider gets configured for it, advance and secure Phase line Bravo, proceeding no further than Limit of Advance (LoA) Charlie.

Either bypass or de-mine the MSR. Thorough clearance of every building in the valley and every mine is not necessary, but rather to the extent that the movement of friendly vehicles along the MSR be unimpeded.
