Description:

1. SITUATION

Situation Time: 06:00hrs

Lighting: Dawn

Weather: Clear, unlimited visibility

HQ has identified the location of the regional IS commander, who’s name is Ismail Muhtaram. He is a low priority target to coalition forces, however he is much beloved by his troops. HQ has decided to use this against the local IS forces by capturing him and thus provoking a rescue attempt which will draw them out into the open to be destroyed by air and artillery support assets.

A. Enemy Forces:

A day time raid in front of the locals should anger the local IS forces to send everything they have. IS has been able to hide their heavy assets well, but there have been reports of old soviet armour in the area as well as technicals.

Expect attacks originating from IS strongholds, which are located to the North, North West and South of FOB Jonson, which should be motorised in nature.

IS forces are expecting a poorly defended FOB and are not aware that Air and heavy artillery support has been put on standby for this operation.

 

B. Friendly Forces: Zulu-Alpha is located at FOB Johnson. Reaper and Ghostrider are located at AFB Kalae Noowi

3) Ground Vehicles: 1x RG-31 Mk5-E M2, 1x RG-31 GC M2

5) Rotary Wing: UH-60 DAP

C. Civilian Presence: There is a heavy civilian presence. They have a neutral attitude to both IS and US forces.

2. Mission

1. Aprehend Ismail Muhtaram and take him back to FOB Johnson
2. Defend against any rescue attempt

3. Execution

1. Make sure that Ismail Muhtaram is aprehended in broad daylight, in clear view of the local population.
2. Use supporting assets as force multipliers in the defence of the FOB.
