MI has narrowed down the location of the leader of the IS in NW Kujari (Sami Habibzai) to an area identified as “IS Command area”.

Due to recent losses, the IS commander in the area is planning on going to each safe house in each village in the area under his command in order to let his presence be known. In his possession, is a laptop containing sensitive intel on IS operations.

Normally, the commander would be well hidden and guarded, but due to the need to go to each village, he is expected to be vulnerable. CENTCOM has tasked Zulu-Alpha with finding and capturing Sami Habibzai for interrogation, along with his laptop.

    A. Enemy Forces:

IS forces in the command area, are not harmed with heavy weapons, but small arms and RPGs. Each village is expected to have a safe house, which could be identified by it being stopped at frequently by the commander and other forces, and should be more guarded than any other building. Each village is occupied with between 10 and 20 insurgents.

The area to the South of the command area has heavier IS forces, including heavily motorized vehicles with heavy mounted weapons (expect BTR turrets on armoured pickup trucks), and seized local army HMMWVs. Expect QRF times to range between 7 and 12 minutes, depending on the village.

The commander is expected to be driving around in a black SUV with 2 bodyguards, however, IS is aware of the vulnerability of the commander, so are expected to drive decoy vehicles of the same type during the commanders’ visits.

IS forces in the AO are not very large as it is far within IS lines and should number in the area of 150 in the entire command area, with no more than a dozen or so men at any one safe house and a few QRF units of technicals and motorized squads waiting at various holding positions throughout the AO in various states of preparedness and are not expecting an attack.

Also, expect some foot patrols in the area between the villages.

    B. Friendly Forces:

Zulu-Alpha is located at the FARP at Marwey Airfield with rotary assets. CENTCOM want minimal collateral damage, so air support is limited to a single AH-6M.
