Description:

1. SITUATION

Situation Time: 06h15 hrs

Lighting: Dawn, still dark

Weather: Unlimited visibility, partly cloudy

The Tanoan civil war is ongoing, with battles between government forces and separatist  paramilitary forces ongoing throughout the main Tanoan island. The mining town of Vagalala has been supportive of the current government and as a result the separatists have been making overtures to enact retribution against the residents of the town.

The Tanoan government has requested that US forces, who are in the theater to support humanitarian operations, extract the residents of the town to safety, as they have received intelligence pointing to paramilitary build ups near the town and are anticipating an attack.

Vagalala

A. Enemy Forces: The paramilitary forces are mainly infantry based and operate using guerrilla tactics. Paramilitary may have access to outdated heavy armaments such as old static heavy weapons that they may use to engage superior forces like US forces.

There is a chance that the paramilitary forces may use our attempt at extraction as an opportunity to inflict casualties on US forces, so a major attack is probable.

B. Friendly Forces: Command has tasked Ranger Zulu Company, Alpha platoon with the mission, as you are already situated at FARP York, on the South West island. Government police forces are have secured Vagalala, but they are only about squad strength and would not be able to repel any major attack.

Other friendly forces: 1x squad of police forces securing Vagalala

C. Civilian Presence: Approximately 37 civilians are occupying Vagalala according to the head count performed by the police

1. Since Vagalala is secured, it can be used as an LZ, as paramilitary forces are occupying throughout other areas of the island.
