Scheduled for Sunday the 18th of Jan
Description:
1. SITUATION
Situation Time: 04:00 hrs
Weather: Clear, 2Km VisibilityA Major Isis training facility has been discovered on an island in the mediteranian sea off the coast of Egypt. Intelligence beleives that this
training base is ISIS’ next move in its escalation of hostilities in the middle east. Satellite imaging has shown that there is a significant
amount of surplus soviet era weaponry at the traning base including MI-8 helicopters and APC’s.Aside from the runway at Objective Kite there is also a portable Radar emplacement at Objective Kestrel, which presents a great opportunity for
us to remove any eye on the air that ISIS has in the region.Due to SAS Mlungu being moved into the area ISIS command has placed several OP’s on the NE part of the island to give warning if any airplanes
or helicopters leave its deck. Thermal imaging has identified the three OP’s which need to be removed before the main assault on the airstrip
and it surrounds can take place. It is beleived that these OP’s have MANPAD’s.A. Enemy Forces:
Enemy forces consist of ISIS regular troops carrying light to medium arms, including M4’s, AK47’s and RPK’s. While there are several helicopters
stationed at Objective Kite it is beleived that there has not been sufficient time to train pilots in their operation. The BMP’s however are
active. As there is a fairly heavy concentration of ISIS forces on the island once ZA forces are detected it is expected that there will be some
for of QRF that will arrive from the Town to the NW. The QRF is expected to take in the region of 15 mintues to get there act together and make
it to the airfield once the warning has gone out.B. Friendly Forces:
Friendly forces are stationed on the SAS Mlungu and has access to standard kit. If a dive team is used then the relevant equipment will also be
provided.1) Aviation: 1 x UH-60 Blackhawk (armed), 1 x AH-64D Apache, 1 x AH-9 Pawnee, 1 x UH-9.
2) Ground Vehicles: 2 x AGV’s (unarmed); 4 x M1025 HMMWV (M2)
3) Boats: 2 x Assault RHIBS, 2 x UDVC. Civilian Presence:
Due to the moderate nature of the locals they have fled the area and there are little or no civilians in the area.

;2. Mission<

There are three objectives for ZA to undertake.1) Neutralise the OP’s on the NE side of the island and on the island of Mangomak.
2) Secure and Destroy the Mobile Radar emplacement at Objective Kestral
3) Secure and hold the airfield and its surrounds and destroy any assets that are discovered.
