TASK #1 DETAIL
———————————Description:
Extract the General and his Guard back to the Airbase
Completion Status: 100%
Comments:
The OPORD went according to plan, with the Target brought to the FOB at approx H + 65minutes (15 minutes behind schedule), loaded into the UH-60 as soon as the Assault element arrived and extracted, without any other ZA members on board other than the pilot back to the Airbase 4 minutes later.———————————
TASK #2 DETAIL
———————————Description:
Extract all of ZA back to the Airbase
Completion Status:
25%Comments:
The OPORD went according to plan until approximately H + 65 minutes when Alpha section arrived at the FOB with Bravo-1 and Bravo-2 En route on foot from the North about 200m away.
Then approximately 200 enemy infantry came out of hiding a few hundred meters (if not less) NE from the FOB and attacked it. Most of ZA was overrun and only 3 survivors escaped with a Hunter to a village 1km South of the FOB for Extraction by Anvil at about H+75 minutes using an MH-9 back to base.———————————
ADDITIONAL DETAIL
———————————
Comments:Before the massive surprise enemy assault at the end, Zulu-Alpha executed the OPORD almost flawlessly and for the most part on schedule. The losses at the end was due to poor intelligence provided by BHQ not spotting what may have been a massive deliberate enemy ambush.
