CO@16 Operation Neptune

Description:

1. SITUATION

Situation Time: 22:20 hrs
Weather: Clear, 3Km Visibility, Half moon, clear forecast.

Separatist guerrillas have managed to obtain a ZSU-39, a current generation advanced air defense system from an unconfirmed source. This system acts as a major force multiplier against local government forces and peacekeepers and can be effective against LO (stealth) Aircraft.
In order to maintain a favorable balance of power this system needs to be destroyed. This operation will be focused in a valley in South East Chernarus, where the system is known to be operating in.

A. Enemy Forces:

The separatist forces are of the NKR equipped with Warsaw Packed Small arms and technicals. They are numbered a large number of separatists in the threatre (about 200) but are mainly located in the major towns in South East Chernarus (and not the small villages) and spread out patrolling the theatre.

In the target valley (indicated in red above) there is expected to be no more than a platoon strength of infantry in total. The ZSU-39 cannot be accurately located due to being hidden, but it’s radar system has been used in the valley.

Based on observed separatist SOP, the ZSU-39 may be positioned in an elevated tree-line, where it can be hidden but still easily deployed if an air threat is detected. If a threat is detected the ZSU-39 may be moved deeper in land in order to keep it hidden.

Separatists are also known to have a significant weapons cache in the valley from the same supplier as the ZSU-39. Based on observed separatist SOP, the cache is expected to be hidden but with easy road access.

 

B. Friendly Forces:

Your force (SAS, D-Troop – Zulu-Alpha) is located on board the USS Khe Sanh (LHD-9) on the South Eastern end of the theatre several KM off the coast. You have attached to you 2 Assault Boats, 4x CRRCs, 2x SWCCs, 1x CH-47, and 4x SDVs. A full assortment of gear is aboard the vessel.

 

C. Civilian Presence:

Civilians occupy the major towns in Chernarus and are expected to be hostile towards non indigenous forces.

 

2. Mission

Primary objective is the destruction of the ZSU-39 with minimal collateral damage and friendly casualties, then extract back to the USS Khe Sanh.

Secondary objective is to find the Weapons cache, catalog it’s contents and destroy the it in order to gain intel as to the source of weapons shipments to the separatists.

 

3. Execution

Your force is to insert using any of the attached assets and/or Angel-One and proceed as the CO sees fit.
