Op Forest Fire – WARNORD

Description:

1. SITUATION

Situation Time: 11:00 hrs Lighting: Clear skies Weather: 3Km Visibility After the last operation to break into the Eastern part of the island, US forces have penetrated deep enough to expose a weak point in the separatists line, allowing an opportunity for US forces to breach the enemy line at the central forest wreck havoc in the enemies rear.

A. Enemy Forces: The Separatists consist of several infantry platoons spread out across the central forest, with their readiness expected to be at very low levels the deeper into the forest your forces penetrate. The infantry forces have a few MANPADS in the forest and possible mortars. Enemy soft targets are expected to consist of fuel depots, supply bases, HQs and comm stations.   B. Friendly Forces: 4th Ranger Battalion, Z company, A platoon are located at OBJ O’Brian with their Arial assets located at AFB Almegaard.  A platoon has standard equipment. 1) Equipment: Standard limited ammo and equipment at FOB Almegaard. 2) Surveillance: micro UAVs 3) Ground Vehicles: 2x UGVs, 2x M113A3s, 2x M998, 1x Repair HEMMT, 1x Ammo HEMTT 4) Fixed Wing: 1x A10 5) Rotary Wing: 1x MH-6, 1x UH-60M 6) Naval: None Other friendly forces: Various other US Army companies are spread out along the front line, currently not advancing.   C. Civilian Presence: Civilians are expected to be concentrated at the major population centers and evacuated from the country side and thus the combat zone.

2. Mission

Your force is clear ASR Sovereign and destroy all targets of opportunity.

3. Execution

Your force is to launch an attack from OBJ O’Brian and penetrate the enemy line at the start of ASR Sovereign, then clear along it up to Phase line Autumn. Destroy all Supply Depots, fuel stations, comm stations, artillery and other targets of oppertunity. ROE: You are free to engage all armed personnel. Minimize collateral and civilian casualties.
