    ZA will have 4 x 148’s and a captured 343 that can be used to listen in/scan for OpFor Intel.

     

    What are the numbers (from ZA side) looking like so we can finalise kit setup?

    1. SITUATION
    The SANDF will be re-deploying assets in The Central African Republic (CAR) to assist with the African Union (AU) UN mandated mission to oust or destroy rebel M23 forces.

    Day 1: Part 1

    Elements of 1 Parachute Battalion has been tasked for rapid deployment to an  airfield in SE CAR ( https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/51533356/CAR.jpg ) to setup security in preparation for the arrival of SANDF assets and manpower. Your ETA in the AO will be aprox 18:00 BRAVO, Final briefing and Intel update, next morning @ 04:00, security operations to commence by no later than 04:45

    A. Enemy Forces: M23 Rebels are active in the area, battling with remnants of local government forces. Reports on numbers and equipment is inaccurate at this time,  M23 control most towns and villages

     

    B. Friendly Forces: Friendly forces consist of Zulu-Alpha (1 Para Bn), equipped as per SANDF doctrine.

    Setup is for 2 x 8 man sections plus 4 man HQ ( included in HQ 1 x Ops medic)

    1 x FN MAG per 8 man section

    1 x Radio per 8 man section + 2 Radios for HQ

    2 x GL’s per 8 man section + 2 GL’s for HQ

    1 x map per 8 man section + 1 Map for HQ

    No Thermals (disabled)

    No Rifle optics

    No NVG’s

    UAV support TBC

    Available vehicles TBC

    2. Mission

    To secure and protect the Airfield out to a 800m radius around the airfield. The CO must identify potential High Value Targets, setup patrols and perimeter security as he/she sees fit. Operations to commence @ 04:45 and ceases @ 08:00
    4. Service and Support
    A. SUPPORT UNITS 1) Artillery: None 2) Aviation: None

    B. MEDICAL SUPPORT A field hospital has been set up . It is equipped to handle medical requirements and is authorized for use.

    5. Command and Signal
    To be determined by the CO. NOTE: Due to M23′s lack of frequency hopping comms it is possible to listen in on their frequencies.

    Altis,  SE. Please note: Ocean is to be regarded as country border and cannot be crossed/used by either side.

    Its the SANDF Phoenix, not US Delta.

    Read the Op Ord again, All your questions are answered in it.

    I will publish load-out and equipment details once finalised, but think SANDF…that should give you an idea.
