    OPERATION WILD KAMINO

    Description:

    1. SITUATION

    Situation Time: 0400 hrs

    First Light: 0430 hrs

Weather: Cloudy and foggy, 500m Visibility, expected to clear

After the discovery of a massive natural gas reservoir of the eastern coast of Stratis. The Greek government decided to sell of  the rights of the valuable resource to an American owned corporation (FUEL), as well as an old Military base (Camp Kamino) for the construction of a storage facility and processing plant. This action caused a lot of outrage from the Greek public and especially environmental groups, arguing that FUEL will destroy the natural beauty of Stratis and exploiting the local population.

Construction of the plant started soon after and was constantly plagued by sabotage and  workers being intimidated and even assaulted. One environmental group, VIPER, started claiming responsibility for all the aggression. Most of these vandalisms were overlooked as a minor hindrance but nothing major was expected from VIPER, but when the government revealed further plans for selling of more parts of the island for industrial development, VIPER motives became more aggressive and popular, threatening to kill anyone working for FUEL and destroy the plant.

18 hours ago, approximately 25 armed individuals stormed the Kamino Plant. A small firefight ensued with FUEL security and reportedly 8 people were killed. Viper then sezeised the plant,  and demanded “FUEL hand over the plant to the people of Stratis”. VIPER then released all local workers and told them to return to their homes but kept 5 FUEL employs as hostages.

The Greek government is unable to deal with the situation and asked NATO for aid.  Zulu-Alpha will use FOB Lance as staging point for their operation.

    A. Enemy Forces

Recent surveillance of the area has shows multiple camps around the main plant and several armed light vehicles patrolling the site. An old army observation post west of Kamino was also annexed by VIPER and UAV fly-over reveal a BMP-2 and a static ZU-23. How VIPER got their hands on all the hardware is still not clear and expected to have been raided from old military storage in Agia Marina.

VIPER has gained a lot of support from the locals and thus their exact numbers are still unknown. It is expected VIPER will hold their position and fight back any resistance.
