    1. SITUATION

    Situation Time: 06:00L 22 December 2023

Lighting: Full Moon, first light 07:51L

    Weather: Partly cloudy, unlimited visibility.

A device highly classified by both our nation and the enemies is being moved in a convoy in the mull of Kintyre from Campbelton Airport to a military base at Oitir Mor Bay, at the coast, for shipment. The base and the airport are well guarded, but the valley between those locations where the convoy is expected to move through is a gap in their defences that the command expects to exploit in an operation to steal the device by ambushing the convoy and sling loading the device back to the nearby U.S.S Freedom CG.

    A. Enemy Forces:

The enemy as an Air defence umbrella that makes a sling loading not practical enabled by SA-20 sites at Campbeltown Airport and the South coast; however, the SA-20 site at the south (near South End) is poorly defended and can be destroyed by a ground team. The convoy has one SA-19 that must be destroyed to enable sling loading. However, the convoy is still well guarded by a T-90, two BTR-80As and at least one truck with infantry; therefore, accurate fire support is likely needed to destroy all units guarding the convoy without destroying the device.

The base at Oitir Mor Bay has another SA-19, but is far enough away and out of LoS that it should not be an issue. However there is a tank company there that makes assaulting the convoy near there impractical.

The same is true at Campbelton Airport.

The Mountains to the West of the route do not have any air defences. The convoy route may have enemy patrols.

Enemy infantry are well-trained and equipped with Russian weapons and may have NVGs.

If the route is deemed as compromised, such as your force being detected along the route or the SA-20 being destroyed, then the convoy will not set out from the airport, and the mission will be a failure; therefore, any violent action must occur when the convoy is already in the ambush.

The convoy is expected to leave at 07:15L and it’s journey should take about 30 minutes.

The mountains to the west of the Route do enable terrain masking from both SA-20 sites if planned carefully.

Remember to detach the device from the truck before sling loading it.
