Scheduled for Sunday 7 September 2025

    1. SITUATION

    Situation Time: 04:45L 5 July 2022

Lighting: Dark, 2/4 moon, First Light at 06:15

Weather: Clear skies, low-level fog, at sea level it’s 250m visibility, otherwise unlimited. The fog is expected to clear up and a storm form over the next 2 hours.

The Syndikat in Tanoa kidnapped Timothy Valenta, the CEO of P3C, a private military contractor, and is being held in a container somewhere in the Blue Pearl port with an explosive device that will be detonated if a rescue attempt is detected.

He was hiking in Tanoa when this happened, and the Syndikat has not issued any demands yet, but we know that they are responsible thanks to local, reliable HUMINT.

CENTCOM has tasked Zulu-Alpha with a rescue operation due to our deployment in the region and mission set.

    A. Enemy Forces:

A Reliable HUMINT source has given us 3 pieces of key information:

    1. Valenta is being held hostage inside a container at the Blue Pearl port
    2. There is a remotely detonated explosive device in the container with him that the Syndikat will detonate if they believe that a rescue operation is underway
    3. There is a wireless video camera in the container with Valenta, broadcasting at 901 MHz.

The Blue Pearl port is under complete Syndikat control. There is a platoon-strength infantry garrison in the office building of the Blue Pearl, currently sleeping. They have a half dozen single-man patrols and a few lookouts throughout the port. The port itself is not expected to have any heavy weapons, except for possible technicals. The main road going through the port has manned checkpoints. There is a coastal patrol boat patrol in the area.

The Blue Pearl is expected to have a possible QRF that is no more than 12 minutes out, the direction of where it comes from is unknown, but could be from either side of the main road or from the mines to the South. The QRF is expected to be composed of motorized infantry.

There is the possibility of air support for the Syndikat, as they do have CH-146 Griffons.

Expect the Tanoan mainland to be mostly occupied by the Syndikat.

The Syndikat are not expected to have NVGs.

    B. Friendly Forces:

Zulu-Alpha is at a FUP on the Northern side of Ravi-ta Island, along with SDVs, Speedboat Miniguns and Assault Boats. Resupply is at the same FUP. Ghostrider is located at Tuvanaka Airbase with re-arm, refuelling and repair.

There is an OP atop the Eastern hill of Ravi-ta Island that observes Blue Pearl.

Zulu-Alpha has been equipped with a Spectrum Device, that will allow you to hone in on the frequency that the wireless video camera in Valenta’s container is broadcasting on, which should significantly simplify the search for his container.

    OP
    OP

    1) Equipment: Standard equipment, with the Spectrum Device on the radio table. There is another radio table at the OP. There is a crate with diving equipment at the FUP.

    2) Surveillance: 1x Darter UAV

    3) Ground Vehicles: None

    4) Fixed Wing: None

    5) Rotary Wing: 1x, MH-6M MELB, 1x AH-6M

    6) Naval: 2x Speedboat Minigun, 3x SDV, 4x Assault Boats

    Other friendly forces: None

    C. Civilian Presence: The Blue Pearl has some civilian activity, though not during the early morning hours of this operation, but traffic may be possible. There is also civilian Marine activity and air traffic from the nearby La Rochelle airport.

    2. Mission

    1. Find, and extract Timothy Valenta back to the FUP, or Tuvanaka Airbase
    2. Avoid civilian casualties and minimize friendly casualties.

    3. General Instructions

Avoid detection, at least until Valenta is separated from the explosive device in his container, or said explosive device is disabled.

Use the spectrum device on the radio table at the FUP to hone in on the camera in Valenta’s container.

    4. Specific Instructions

The spectrum device is expected to have a range of several hundred meters for the expected signal strength of the camera, and it must be pointed in the direction of the signal source. The spectrum device is configured for a 100 MHz frequency band, centred at 900 MHz, and other radio transmissions in that band will also be detected if close enough.
