Scheduled for Sunday the 30th of October

    Description:

    1. SITUATION

    Situation Time: 07h00

    Lighting: Early morning

    Weather: Clear skies, unlimited visibility.

The war against Taliban terrorists in Takistan has largely broken down to mop-up operations, clearing IED’s and providing assistance to the displaced locals to resume their lives in war-torn areas.  ZA Platoon is currently stationed at FOB Rasman and operating in the mountains to the south.  Having recently completed clearing their AO of explosive devices in Faruz Abad, they are ready to move out to allow NATO forces to bring civilians back to Faruz Abad, Anar etc.

These plans were laid waste when a Russian advance element unexpectedly deployed to Loy Manara Military base, destroying the British forces that were operating from the AFB.  Since then, an Armored/Mechanized Company has been airlifted into the base.  This force then rapidly deployed to the Siah Chub valley just north of the Darbang and Naram Darre passes to annex the Kakara Oil Field.  Part of this Company included 4x 2K22 Tunguska Air Defence Systems.  Air superiority has temporarily been lost to the Russians.

A second Tank Company has just been spotted at Rasman and is expected to move out to Kakara in the next hour or so.  If this wave of T-72’s can get to the Oil Field, it will be extremely difficult to re-capture the area and to regain control of the airspace.

    A. Enemy Forces: A US MQ-9 Reaper UAV was shot down last night when attempting to gather detailed intel on enemy numbers and movements.  Satellite reconnaissance confirmed the following Russian units:

    In the Kakara Oil Field:

    • 4 x Tunguska AA
    • 2 x T-72 MBT
    • 1 x BMP 2 IFV
    • 1 x GAZ Vodnik BPPU
    • 1 x BTR-90 HQ
    • 1 x BTR-90 APC
    • Motorized VDV Infantry units
    • Support/transport vehicles

Although the infantry is well equipped with RPG launchers, no specialized AT or AA is expected other than those that are vehicle based.

    At Loy Manara AFB:

    • 8 x T-72 MBT

    B. Friendly Forces: US Army presence is minimal represented by Dragon Platoon stationed at FOB Rasman.
