1. SITUATION

Two critical intelligence documents were discovered following the successful “direct action operation” on FOB Martin. The intelligence was analyzed, and the findings revealed the following information on the whereabouts of the HVI (ANA army) and leader Akhtar Omar:

• The Taliban insurgent stronghold is located in the village of Benamair.
• Six Afghan national army members are held captive, assumed in the HQ positions marked on the recovered intel map. (see Fig:1 below)
• Commander Akhtar Omar is present at the stronghold.

After completing the initial action raid at 06h00L and a resupply, Zulu-Alpha is tasked with proceeding to Benamair to engage with the Taliban Insurgents at 07h00L.

A. Enemy Forces:
Unknown number of Taliban forces, however, the preceding WARNORD has advised against possible enemy threats and vehicles thereof. Additionally, the map provided by the informant can be said to be incomplete with general tags of the positions shown. Precautions must be taken to ensure safety despite the locations given.

B. Friendly Forces:
Zulu-Alpha is stationed at FOB Martin with one  CH-47F.

1) Equipment: Standard equipment. (FOB Martin)

2) Surveillance: None

3) Ground Vehicles:

• 1x Ambulance M997 (Kalaenowwi Airbase).

4) Fixed Wing: None

5) Rotary Wing:

• 1x CH-47F (FOB Martin).
• 1x MH-6M Recon, 1x AH-6J (Kalaenowwi Airbase).

6) Naval: None

Other friendly forces : A small group of ANA soldiers has arrived at FOB Martin to guard the context while Zulu-Alpha proceeds with the mission on Benamair. No other friendly forces are expected outside of FOB Martin’s context.

C. Civilian Presence: None.

2. Mission

1. Capture or kill Taliban commander Akhtar Oman.
2. Rescue captives and RTB (Kalaenowwi Airbase).

3. General Instructions

The whereabouts of the HVI’s is not precisely known. Caution should be taken with support and explosive ordnance within the stronghold.
