Description:

1. SITUATION

Situation Time: 16:20hrs

Weather: Partly cloudy

A tentative ceasefire in the Crimean region bordering Russia and Ukraine has remained in place for months mostly due to a stalemate after the deployment of U.S. troops in the region. Pres. Trump believed that intervening directly would finally draw this conflict on NATO’s doorstep to a close.

A covert intelligence team (Wraith) entrenched deep in Russian held territory was compromised, and required immediate extraction. A UH-60 (Ghostrider 4) was deployed from FOB Atlantis to fly a NOE operation to extract the team, counting on the ceasefire to protect them against AAA threats.

Ghostrider 4 confirmed they had retrieved Wraith and were RTB. Shortly thereafter they reported incoming fire before communications were ceased. Reports from forces stationed at the front lines indicate the crash site is in Russian territory. Due to the extremely sensitive nature of the intelligence (codenamed Stargate) gathered by Wraith it is critical that it is recovered with extreme prejudice. You are authorized to use any assets at FOB Atlantis to recover Stargate.
