1. SITUATION

Situation Time: 00h00L 26 Sept 2016

Lighting: Night, Three Quarter moon

Weather: clear

Taliban insurgents in Kujari had been driven south of the river for the past six months. Things have been peaceful until some locals have reported seeing armed patrols and hearing vehicles moving in the dead of night when it should otherwise be quiet.

Command believes the Taliban is setting themselves up for renewed strikes north of the river. These strikes are usually led by planting IED’s on routes used by civilians and armed forces. They believe that in preparation for this the Taliban may be stashing IED’s along the river to be carried over once they are ready. Zulu Alpha have been tasked by command to patrol the river from east of Camp Tusk to the Kombotso Crossing in an effort to destroy these IED cashes. Since the IED’s must be distributed from somewhere, ZA is to pay close attention to any vehicles moving in the area to determine where the IED’s are being brought from and if possible destroy the source.

 

Arena

A. Enemy Forces:

Enemy forces are likely to be mostly infantry patrolling in the area and guarding IED stashes. Vehicles have been heard in the area but have not been identified.

Zulu-Company, Alpha platoon is stationed at Camp Tusk

6) Naval: 2 x Assault boats on the river bank NE of Camp Tusk
