1. SITUATION
Situation Time: 15:30hrs
Lighting: Daylight, Last light 17:30
Weather: Clear Skies most of the day with scattered clouds, No rain expected
US and NATO operations against IS have crumbled in Lythium… a Code “Red” has been called for all US forces to withdraw from the northern region. A couple of UN troops are about to evac the area just east of the last US strongholds “FOB’s Martin” and “Puesto Vulcan”
Zulu Company, Alpha Platoon are stationed at both these compounds and orders are simple “Hold both these last remaining FOB’s until UN troops have left”
AO – Redstorm From Previous operations, FOB martin has been geared up to provide mortar fire with 64 HE rounds and are currently being occupied by Dragon Actual, Dragon 1, Dragon 4 and Dragon 5.
FOB Puesto Vulcan, being the closest FOB to the enemy have minor defences but packs a punch with Dragon 2, Dragon 3 and 2 CMT’s from Dragon 5 and has a medical facility at the FOB as well.
From the last intel we got were the IS are around 200 men strong supported by 50.cal technical’s and SPG’s. FOB Vulcan has already been targeted by enemy RPG’s and FOB Martin being the last Stronghold has only received sporadic attempts of assault on the compound.
