Operation Outbreak Part 2

1. SITUATION (This is a continuance from last weeks mission)

Situation Time: 04:00L 11 September 2022 (Sunrise 05:30)

Lighting: Night, dark moon

Weather: Clear, unlimited visibility.

The movement of the Red Star has taken control of southern Livonia. It appears that they are set on taking the whole region. While advancing north, a UN officer got caught behind enemy lines. The Red Star leader Colonel Matous Korolenko has promised to execute the UN officer in three days if the current government of Livonia doesn’t stand down and relinquish total control of the region to him. The Livonian President has refused and the execution of the UN officer has been moved up to daybreak. Zulu-Alpha is the only western asset in the region and military command have tasked us with attempting a rescue.

Dragon 4 was inserted by chopper to the Church ruins west of Huta. It has landed 2 of the 3 drones in the NE corner of the field where Dragon 0,1,3 and 5 was inserted via HALO paradrop. The brutal artillery bombing of Huta, Lipina and Radunin has finally ceased.

A. Enemy Forces:
The Movement of the Red Star is occupying  the South of Livonia. They have created a temporary border between North and South and are guarding it with mechanized patrols, Anti Air installations and T-55 tanks. The region south of this border is heavily patrolled by infantry squads. Insertion and extraction will be difficult and will need careful planning.

Military intelligence have monitored the region extensively by satellite and is confident that the UN officer is being kept at the Red Star base, an old weapons factory 1.3km south east of Nadbor. They have also been able to monitor enemy movements and have been able to plot map placements of fixed enemy installations. Patrols marked on the map was at the time of taking the satellite image. The base is crawling with numerous infantry squads and mechanized patrols often stop at the base before continuing patrol.  Command have chosen this hour of the night for the operation as most, but not all of the base will be sleeping with only small guard posts and roaming guards active.

Colonel Matous Korolenko is known to be a little crazy, believing he is invincible and often parading out in the open taunting opposing forces. He also has a set of NVG’s and loves being out at all hours of the night.

B. Friendly Forces:

Zulu-Alpha is located at Lukow Airfield

1) Equipment: Standard equipment. Night

2) Surveillance: 3 x AR-2 Darter with additional batteries

3) Ground Vehicles: 2x HMMWV M1151 (Unarmed) 

4) Fixed Wing: C-130 J

5) Rotary Wing: MH-60S Knighthawk

6) Naval: None

C. Civilian Presence: No civilians in the AO.

2. Mission

1. Get across the enemy border without being noticed.
2. Infiltrate the AO with stealth, search for and rescue the UN officer
3. Once the UN officer is safe, find a way to extract the team back to Lukow Airfield.

3. General Instructions

1. Command requested a stealth approach for the mission.
2. Command has supplied us with additional Subsonic ammo
3. Avoid the towns of Huta, Lipina and Radunin as they are currently under heavy artillery fire from Red Star

4. Specific Instructions

KIT UP AND SAVE YOUR LOADOUTS. THE CRATES WILL BE REMOVED (The crates are only there to enable us to continue from where we ended last week)

ONE ABOVE WHISPER, YOU ARE STARTING BEHIND ENEMY LINES

Command instructed Dragon 4 to survey from north of the border and take backup drones. Without proper surveillance the mission is a NO-GO. Team leaders to be issued with tablets to view drone footage and direct Dragon 4 as needed.
