1. SITUATION
Situation Time: 08:30L 5 November 2023
Lighting: Morning
Weather: Partly cloudy and unlimited visibility.
South Sahrani is starting its counter-offensive to de-militarise the aggressor state of North Sahrani.
The US has helped equip and train South Sahrani forces and is supporting them with command and control to fill in any capability gaps.
South Sahrani and US forces have liberated the city of Corazol, and the coalition is now ready to break out into the plains of North Sahrani.
The first objective to gain a foothold in North Sahrani will be to capture the towns of Obregan and Mercalillo and the key terrain of the hill of Cerro Obrego. Zulu Company, Alpha platoon, is tasked with commanding the operation, providing indirect fires and coordinating with the Royal Army Corps of Sahrani (RACS) mechanised infantry company, callsign Roundhouse.
AO AO (Aerial) A. Enemy Forces:
The Sahrani Liberation Army (SLA) is expecting an attack and has prepared a deliberate defence.
You will be going up against a motorized infantry company of the 1st Motor Rifle Guards of the SLA. The enemy consists of a platoon of BTR-80As, several platoons of infantry with Metis ATGMs, SPG-9s, DShKMs, 2x 2B14 82mm Mortars and drones used to spot for their mortars. Each town has headquarters units stationed inside of them and supply vehicles, as the towns, particularly Obregan, are used as logistics hubs. There is also a platoon of T-72s held in reserve that may counter-attack in reaction to this operation.
They are using defence in depth, from about 1 km outside of Corazol all the way to the objective towns. Expect small AT teams first, with stronger enemy forces further behind. Both towns are occupied with about a platoon of enemy infantry each. The enemy has occupied the key hill of Cerro Obrego, where they have built bunkers and dug trenches and have situated one of their mortar tubes atop the hill, with the other one in an unknown location.
Cerro Obrego (Aerial) Obregan (Aerial) Mercalillo (Aerial) B. Friendly Forces:
Zulu-Company, Alpha platoon is located in Corazol, along with Roundhouse. ZA has been provided Strykers for mobility.
Roundhouse is a mechanized infantry company consisting of an infantry platoon, an IFV platoon, and an MBT platoon.
Roundhouse 1) Equipment: Standard equipment, with vehicle re-arm, re-fuel and repair facilities.
2) Surveillance: 1x Micro UAV
3) Ground Vehicles: 2x M1126 ICV Mk19 CROWS [Slat], 1x M1133 MEV, 1x M1129 MC MK19 CROWS [Slat] (120mm Mortar)
4) Fixed Wing: N/A
5) Rotary Wing: N/A
6) Naval: N/A
Other friendly forces: Roundhouse, consisting of 1x M1A2, 2x M60A3 TTS, 3x LAV-25A1 with mounted infantry squads, 3x Rifle squads, 1x AT Team (Dragon ATGM).
C. Civilian Presence: Civilians have evacuated the towns along the front line.
2. Mission
- Occupy the towns of Mercalillo and Obregan
- Find and destroy the two enemy headquarters units.
- Clear and occupy the hill of Cerro Obrego
- Avoid losing more than 50% of Roundhouse
3. General Instructions
Do not damage civilian buildings unless there is a known enemy threat insidf them.
Do not proceed further North than PL August and further East than PL July
