1. SITUATION
Situation Time: 03:45L 20 September 2025
Lighting: Night time, Full moon, Sunrise 05:39L
Weather: Partly cloudy, unlimited visibility.
A US war correspondent named Costa Manelia was investigating Russian Wagner PMC activity in the Virolahti region, but was apprehended last week by said PMC force.
We believe that they are interrogating him for his sources, and there is a real risk of torture and execution.
Since they are a non-state-sanctioned force, we are authorised to use lethal force to rescue Costa Manelia.
Command believes a surgical direct action mission with CAS should allow us to retrieve Costa Manelia.
Theatre Costa Manelia A. Enemy Forces:
Wager forces are located on the Southern Peninsula, centred on the town of Rannanen, which is their main base of operations, and where we believe Costa Manelia is being held; however, we do not know exactly which building.
AO Wagner forces are relatively small in numbers, but well-equipped. They have several AFVs, some of which are BMP-2s, and heavy weapons such as mortars and HMGs, protected by an SA-20 site.
SA-20 Site Most of their forces are situated at an inner defence perimeter at Rannanen, with some patrols defending the rest of the peninsula in the marked area.
Roadblock They have about two squads of infantry in the town itself and several patrolling the peninsula
B. Friendly Forces:
Zulu-Alpha is located on board the LHD-9 South of the peninsula, with Rotary and fixed-wing support, and boats.

2. Mission
- Rescue Costa Manelia and bring him back to the LHD-9.
3. General Instructions
Command recommends a stealth insertion to destroy the SA-20, then use CAS to eliminate their heavy weapons and AFVs and to suppress their reinforcements.
