1. SITUATION
Situation Time: 10h00
Lighting: Good.
Weather: Cloudy with light morning mist expected to clear soon.
Following Operation Bald Eagle, we have now successfully established FOB Mullet. This FOB is a clear message to the local insurgents that we mean business. The initial patrol of Smuggler’s Pass revealed several high grade weapons caches which were subsequently destroyed by the diligent action of Dragon. These weapons open the door to many questions, as some of the weapons as way beyond the capabilities of a militia.
Our action has kicked up a shit storm of enemy activity in the area. Our support assets have been re-tasked to assist other units in the area, and we are to hold FOB Mullet until further notice.
Recon operations have revealed an enemy outpost at the old abandoned Camp Maxwell. We need to destroy this outpost, and gather any intelligence that may lead to the source of these advanced weapons.
A. Enemy Forces: An unknown number of lightly armed militia infantry sporting Soviet Era and modern weapons. Some vehicles fitted with MG’s have been spotted. No reports of armor or air threats, however these cannot be ruled out.
B. Friendly Forces: ZA Guard Squad for FOB Mullet.
1) Equipment: Standard NATO equipment at start.
2) Surveillance: Personal/Backpack UAV
3) Ground Vehicles: A liberated civilian transport truck is available at FOB Mullet to haul troops or supplies if needed.
4) Fixed Wing: None.
5) Rotary Wing: None.
6) Naval: None.
Other friendly forces: None expected.
C. Civilian Presence: Significant civilian presence. May be armed. Expected to be friendly. DO NOT ENGAGE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE!
2. Mission
- Primary: Hold forward observation post Mullet.
- Primary: Clear enemy outpost at Camp Maxwell and gather intelligence
- Secondary: Patrol the surrounding areas to identify and destroy any caches.
3. Execution
- Start at, and hold FOB Mullet at the village at 038 045.
- Conduct a raid on, and destroy the outpost at Camp Maxwell.
- Gather any intelligence on the source of the advanced weapons we found in Op. Bald Eagle.
- Return to FOB Mullet (Optional).
