    Scheduled for Sunday the 27th of July

    Description:

    1. SITUATION

    Situation Time: 04:00 hrs
    Lighting: Full Moon, First light at 05:12 hrs
    Weather: Clear, 3Km Visibility, clear forecast

    Insurgent leader and primary proliferator of North African Mercenaries, Qasim Sangeen (code name “Souris”) has been discovered (with a 75% certainty) to be located in a villa on the outskirts of Zargabad, just NE of it’s center. This intel is time critical and with a relatively high degree of certainty. Therefore higher command has ordered Zulu-Alpha D-Troop to conduct a direct action mission to eliminate the HVT Souris and capture any persons of interest found on the premises for interrogation.

    A. Enemy Forces:

    There are two groups of enemy forces in the operating in the entire AO but no Further South than Shahbaz. The most numerous are the local Muslim insurgents who are hosting the HVT, numbered at around 150 spread across the entire AO and not concentrated at the villa. The second group are north African mercenaries directly under the command of Souris numbering approximately 30, many of which are expected to be located in and around the Villa functioning as primary security, with the rest acting as a QRF and probably located in Zargabad proper. Both groups are armed with soviet era small arms including RPGs and technicals. UAV surveillance shows the villa compound to be fortified with extra barbed wire around its perimeter at former potential breaches, sandbagged firing positions on the roof of the villa and what appears to be a ZSU-23 on the roof of the West wing of the Villa.

    B. Friendly Forces:

    Your force (SAS, D-Troop – Zulu-Alpha) is located in FOB Colobus

    1) Equipment: You are limited to standard small arms and 2x M2 Brownings

    2) Surveillance: 1x micro UAV

    3) Ground Vehicles: 5x M2 HMMWV up-armoured.

    C. Civilian Presence:

    Civilians occupy the area and operate vehicles. They are neutral to your forces and are also expected to be neutral to the enemy force.

     

    2. Mission

    Your force is to conduct a direct action mission to eliminate Souris and capture any persons of interest in the villa and bring them and your forces back to FOB Colobus with minimal friendly and civilian casualties.

    Preliminaries

    A. Security

    C. Task Organization

    • Task org. – 1 Section will provide main security, 2 Section will assault Jaguar-1, 3 Section will provide rear security. Stinger will airlift HMMWVs, provide CAS and extraction of any captured personel. 0-A is JTAC.

     

    D. Ground Brief Orientation

    • Map familiarization – The AO is a desert area with rolling hills with a large urban area in the center (Zargabad) with smaller compounds dotted around the area. There is a dry riverbed running North South East of Jaguar (the Villa) that acts as dead ground. Jaguar is on elevated terrain with some tall trees surrounding it partially breaking line of sight. There are dominating hills 1km to the East of Jaguar running North South parallel to the riverbed.
    • Enemy – Jaguar has an outer fence with barbed wire reinforcing any breaches. there is a tall partially surrounding the South of jaguar 1 and another one surrounding Jaguar 3 and 4. The main entrance to the compound is along MSR Macaque which provides rapid access to Jaguar for any reinforcements.
    • Friendly – Beyond the Eastern hills there is an arid valley which should be clear of all civilians and hostiles suitable for an FUP and HLS. the Eastern hills allows us to control the Eastern part of Jaguar and partially isolate it.

    3. Execution

    A. Concept of Operations

    • C.O’s Intent – To rapidly conduct a focused assault primarily with ground vehicles to breach Jaguar, neutralize Boomslang, kill Souris, rapidly extract any captured persons of interest by air and fall back with all ground forces back to the HLS\FUP. This must all be completed in about one hour
    • Scheme of maneuver
    • 1. Stinger airlifts HMMWVs and ground forces to HLS-1 under security of gunship (00:15)
    • 2. Dragon must move to WP-1 and isolate Jaguar (00:30)
    • 3. 1 and 2 section must move to and breach at WP-2 while 3 section over-watches. (00:35)
    • 4. 1 section moves to FP-1  (Firing Position one) and acts as a blocking force for any QRF along MSR Macaque, 2 section clears Jaguar-1 and neutralizes Boomslang, and 3 section moves up and clears Jaguars 2, 3 and 4. (00:45)
    • 5a. 2 Section takes any captured persons of interest and moves them to the open (NE entrance of Jaguar-1) to be extracted via Stinger and MH-9. (00:50)
    • 5b. Stinger provides CAS with AH-9. (00:50)
    • 6. 3 section moves to WP-3 and provides over-watch, while 1 and 2 sections fall back through WP-3 to HLS-1 (00:60)
    • 7. All dragon elements are extracted by stinger from HLS-1 to FOB Colobus along with the HMMWVs
    • Main Effort – 2 section assaults Jaguar-1 and eliminates primary objective and organizes extraction of captured personnel. 1 Section is main blocking force and security and 3 section is rear security.

     

     

    B. Mission Statements

    • 1-Section – Secure against reinforcements from South and West and along MSR Macaque.
    • 2-Section – Assault Jaguar-1 and eliminates primary objective and organizes extraction of captured personnel

    • Stinger – Transport all all elements to AO (HLS-1) via MH-47E. Provide CAS after Boomslang is eliminated, extract persons of interest with MH-9 and extract all elements from HLS-1 when mission is completed with MH-47E.
    • Summary – Stinger transports all elements and their HMMWVs to HLS-1. 3 section over-watches 1 and 2 sections while they breach Jaguar. 2 section provides main security along MSR Macaque, and 3 section provides rear security. 2 Section eliminates Boomslang, Souris and organizes extraction of persons of interest. All Dragon elements falls back through WP-3 with 3 section over-watching. Stinger extracts elemenets back to FOB Colobus.

     

    C. Coordinating instructions

    • Preliminary Moves – All personel and vehicles airlifted to HLS-1 by Stinger
    • Coordinating Fire – Dragon-0-A is JTAC
    • Re-Org Instructions – Last WP is current RP.

     

    Actions-on :
    • Personnel of interest captured – Bring to NE Entracne of Jaguar 1 and signal 0-A to organize extraction.
    • Boom-slang eliminated – Signal all call-signs.
    • Breach at WP-2 – Use explosive satchels. 1 Section enters first and moves left along MSR macaque using the Wall as cover from Jaguar-1 until they reach FP-1. 2 Section moves right and stops at end of wall. 3 Section enters through breach and moves right and clears Eastern Jaguar buildings. 2 Section at the same times clears 1-Jaguar.

     

    4. Service Support

    • Kit requirements – 1 Explosive satchel with 1 and 2 sections each.
    • CASEVAC – Stinger to use MH-9 to Casevac to HLS-1 only once Boomslang is eliminated
    • Resupply – Resupply crates from FOB Colobus airlifted by stinger.
