Description:
1. SITUATION
Situation Time: 06:00hrs
Lighting: Pre-dawn, Full moon. Sunrise: 06:50
Weather: High visibility, partly cloudy, common light jungle fog
A Tanoan paramilitary faction, known as the Syndikat, is holding the local government at ransom by holding the Southern Tanoan shipping lanes hostage by using heavy weapon emplacements on islands along the shipping route, thereby closing down all commercial shipping. The USS Liberty, a destroyer in the region, has been deployed as a quick reaction to this event due to its proximity and the fact that it is carrying the Ranger’s Zulu Company, Alpha platoon, which is equipped to handle this mission. The Tanoan president has granted the US permission to clear the shipping lanes with maximum lethality in order to demonstrate strength.
Theater A. Enemy Forces:
At the start of the incident, a vessel that tried to enter the shipping route from the southeast took fire from a Syndikat heavy weapon, suspected to be a ZSU-23, on the island of Tuadua. They managed to turn around and escape before receiving casualties and taking a photo:
Tuadua Island gun Since then, the main concentrations of enemy forces along the coastlines of the trade route have been identified along with suspected enemy camps. These camps contain weapon caches necessary to sustain the blockade. Fire team to squad-sized patrols have been identified patrolling near each of these camps. Each camp is also expected to consist of at least one mortar tube and several heavy weapons, which could include but are not limited to DShKMs, ZSU-23s and even a D-30 battery, which was sighted near the village of Savaka.
The Syndikat is well funded and has a small naval presence in the form of patrol boats and may deploy them in reaction to any attack.

C. Civilian Presence: There is a sizable presence of civilians in coastal villages along the shipping lane. Extreme care should be taken when using indirect fire not to hit these villages.
2. Mission
- Clear the Southern Tanoan shipping lane of enemy forces, thus allowing shipping to travel safely.
- Find and clear out the enemy camps and destroy the weapon caches located there.
3. General Instructions
- Command recommends using the firepower aboard the USS Liberty (120mm naval gun and cruise missiles).
