    1. SITUATION

    Situation Time: August 16, 23h05L
    Lighting: 2 fifths moon
    Weather: Partly cloudy, unlimited visibility.

The US and coalition withdrawal is to be completed in 2 weeks. US forces have withdrawn rapidly from every base in Afghanistan, except for Kabul international, where international aid workers, US citizens and Afghan locals who helped the coalition, such as Translators, who have earned their visas, where to leave Afghanistan if they so desired.

However, the Afghan government, along with the ANA have broken up and fled in the face of a shockingly fast Taliban advance. The Taliban has a ceasefire agreement with Coalition forces, but are in to rush to let Foreign citizens and ‘collaborators’ leave the country, so those many of those people have been unable to leave.

There are rogue Taliban and ISIS-K hunting for some of these people, particularly who they see as ‘collaborators’, namely the Translators. CENTCOM has finally cleared a mission for small US forces, namely Zulu-Alpha, to leave Kabul international, and collect these people.

Even though we have  a ceasefire with the Taliban, we do not with ISIS-K, and there are some rogue elements of the Taliban. In addition to this, they have both had their equipment bolstered by large amounts of captured ANA equipment. ISIS-K is however, not just hostile to us, but also to the Taliban, so there is expected to be fighting between them, and not necessarily directed towards us.

In addition to this, there may be opportunities to destroy abandoned ANA equipment and munitions that have yet to be commandeered by the Taliban or ISIS-K.

The people that need to be extracted, are 7 Aid workers from Afarat, 5 US Citizens from Tunkuf and 4 Translators from Limari. The equipment that needs to be destroyed is at Mikis FOB.

    A. Enemy Forces:

Not much is known on what is happening outside of Kabul International, but it is known that ISIS-K have hunting parties looking for foreign nationals and ‘collaborators’, and they will engage us on sight. They are not to be confused with the Taliban, who we must maintain a ceasefire with, except for those who fire on us.

Former ANA equipment that the Taliban and ISIS-K are known to be operating, are NVGs, M4s, M249s, some AT4s, and Mastif MRAPs. Along with this, there are reports of Armored fighting vehicles, such as BMPs but we do not know who are operating them.

There are captured little-birds and black hawks that can serve the ground attack role, however it is not expected that they are able to operate them yet.

There are not expected to be IEDs placed, as it is essentially Taliban territory that we will be riding into.

    B. Friendly Forces:

Marines are guarding the Airport, along with an Apache, but are not available for support outside the immediate vicinity of the Airport, as they do not have clearance to leave it. Therefore, Zulu-Alpha will be on it’s own.
