CAMPAIGN WARNORD – Campaign Guard

1. SITUATION

Situation Time: 13th Dec 1998, 10:00Am,
Lighting: Morning.
Weather: Clear.

It is an hour after Zulu-Alpha completed its last mission and took the training site at the abandoned school. Zulu-Alpha has discovered intel and ammo caches but is yet to destroy the latter.

During the SSE, intel was found that Bozniak forces have planned a hasty ambush for the Zulu-Alpha’s return trip back to base. Since we are now aware of this, Command has determined that this is an excellent opportunity to diminish the enemy’s offensive capacity, as it is expected that the Bozniaks are using this ambush as a final, last-ditch attempt to destroy Zulu-Alpha.

HQ has approved the use of the Little birds, up until the remaining ZU-23 has been neutralized then all Air assets may be used to prevent a counter-attack.

A. Enemy Forces: Known enemy assets are a ZU-23 and 1 to 2 T-55s. They are expected to have prepared hasty defences, so don’t expect anything more than a few trenches and CSWs. The enemy may also have several transport trucks or BTR’s which they would have needed to rapidly move into position right after our attack.

1 Mi-8 escaped the last operation so that asset is still available to the enemy.

B. Friendly Forces: Zulu-Alpha’s Dragon’0, 1, 5 and Badger’1 is at the school. The rest is at the airbase. Position at school is precarious.

1) Equipment: Standard equipment and new Resupply crates available at base. At school, equipment crates for the units there only and some explosives.

2) Surveillance: None

3) Ground Vehicles: At Abandonned school: 1x M2A2 Bradleys, 2x M2 HMMWV, 1x Medical HMMWV, 1x Transport trucks. At Airbase: 1x M2 HMMWV, 2x HMMWV (unarmed), 2 x M113 APC, 2 x TOW HMMWV, 1x M134 HMMWV (Minigun), 1x Transport trucks, 1x Repair, 1x Fuel, 1x Ammo

4) Fixed Wing: 1x A10 Warthog

5) Rotary Wing: 2x UH60 DAP, 2 MH-6 Little Birds

6) Naval: None

Other friendly forces: UN and Police operating within towns

C. Civilian Presence: Civilian presence at local towns.

2. Mission

1. Find and destroy the ambushing enemy force.
2. Destroy enemy assets and caches at school.
3. Get back to the Airbase.

Your starting position at the school is precarious, so mop up the enemy assets quickly and don’t spend long there.
