Operation Shredder

1. SITUATION

Situation Time: October 7, 01h00L
Lighting: Half moon
Weather: Partly cloudy, unlimited visibility.

MI has gotten word that ISIS is planning an attack on a US installation in the Kalae Noowi area of Lythium. Command needs to determine which installation is under threat and/or spoil that attack before it happens.

Command would like to raid the safe house that is being used for this intelligence gathering and the main ISIS safe houses in Kalae Noowi are known, however, we don’t know which one and we don’t have the resources to raid all of them simultaneously, and if we raid the wrong one, then ISIS is expected to destroy the intelligence before we can determine the correct safe house.

MI has determined one safe house that is most likely to know the location of the safe house that is conducting the intelligence gathering operations, codenamed OBJ Bond. Raiding this will then give us a window of opportunity to raid the correct safe house before the intelligence is destroyed.

A. Enemy Forces:

IS forces are concentrated and only located at the known safe houses, codenamed Matt, Gloss, Silk and Bond.

At each safe house, they have numbered anywhere between 10 and 30 men (this varies throughout the day).

They have some vehicles, but not for any offensive purpose, but only moving around.

There are no known CSWs or MANPADs in the area, so IS forces are restricted to small arms and RPGs.

Their reaction to an attack at any safe house would be to destroy the intelligence, and it is estimated that they will need at least 40 minutes to do so after the first safe house is hit.

IS forces in their safe houses are expected to be sleeping some guards, but can quickly go on full alert.

B. Friendly Forces:

Zulu Alpha is located at FOB Kalae Noowi, near the city, in the airbase. You have been granted helicopters suited for a direct action raid, with light CAS capability, and MRAPs, to provide the option for using a ground-based assault instead, or in addition to an airborne one.

3) Ground Vehicles: 2x Mastiff PPV HMG, Logistical vehicles for helicopter operations.

5) Rotary Wing: 1x MH-60L DAP [2 Pylons] (unarmed), 1x AH-6M, 1x MH-6M MELB

C. Civilian Presence: There is a significant civilian presence in the city, with no expected allegiance to either side.

2. Mission

1. Determine the location of the safe house that is conducting the intelligence gathering.
2. Secure the IS intelligence at determined safe house before it is destroyed.
3. Extract back to base with the intelligence.
4. Minimize collateral damage, friendly and civilian casualties.

3. General Instructions

1. Raid Objective Bond first, and quickly conduct SSE to find out which Safe House has the intelligence.
2. Secure the intelligence at the determined safe house within 40 minutes of initiating the raid at Objective Bond.
