Operation Repayment

1. SITUATION

Situation Time: 05:50L

Weather: High visibility, partly cloudy

After successfully repelling the Syndikat attack against the town of Katkoula with the assistance of its militia, CENTCOM has decided to launch a counter-attack against the primary staging area of the attack and the heart of the Lemur and Panther cells – which were involved in the previous attack – the Tanoan Western Island.

The residents of Katkoula are eager to assist in the attack and are being supplied and trained by US forces to that end. Along with the support of the U.S.S Liberty and it’s assets, MI estimates that we should be able to take the 3 key towns of Rautake, Balavu and if all goes well Tavu. This should place us in effective control of the island.

A. Enemy Forces:

The two cells on the island are in prepared defences, with Heavy MGs, mortar support and an odd mix of AFVs which are old, recovered and stolen Tanoan Army surplus equipment, including at least one BMP-1 and an MTLB. They are approximately reinforced company strength and spread out throughout the island with patrols and are on high alert.

The Tiger cell which is based outside on an unknown, different island, is expected to provide support in reaction to an attack with re-purposed civilian helicopters and some kind of light naval support.

B. Friendly Forces:

Veterans and other residents of Katkoula and the surrounding area have formed an amphibious infantry platoon militia (callsign Saber) and have been equipped with surplus equipment purchased by the DoD from the Tanoan government and donated to the militia, including 2x LCVPs (one of which configured for vehicle use for Dragon).

They are on standby to deploy to one of three pre-planned LZs at a moments notice and attack the nearest town. Which town will be decided on by the commander of Dragon and will have an E.T.A of 11 to 18 minutes depending on the LZ chosen.

The U.S.S Liberty – equipped with cruise missiles and a 120mm naval gun – is on station several Km South East of the islands and made it’s AH-1Z available and donated 3 armed RHIBs to Dragon.

1) Equipment: Standard equipment.

2) Surveillance: 1x Micro UAV

3) Ground Vehicles: 1x M134 HMMWV

4) Fixed Wing: None

5) Rotary Wing: 1x AH-1Z (located on U.S.S Liberty)

6) Naval: 3x RHIB M2, 1x LCVP (VIV)

Other friendly forces: Militia platoon at Katkoula in an LCVP awaiting the signal to land at designated LZ and attack the nearest town.

C. Civilian Presence: Civilians are numerous on the Western island and are expected to remain neutral.

2. Mission

1. Capture the town of Rautake
2. Capture the town of Balavu
3. (Secondary) Capture the town of Tavu

3. Execution

1. Land on the Western island and take the towns using all support that is deemed useful by the CO, including Tavu if there is time.
2. When appropriate, call in Saber on chosen LZ and assist their attack and landing to ensure success.
3. Minimize civilian casualties.
