1. SITUATION

Situation Time: 16:45hrs

Lighting: Afternoon, last light 18:15

Weather: Clear, unlimited visibility

Your platoon who is responsible for controlling the Eastern Green Zone has been receiving mortar fire from an ISI mortar team during the nights, keeping your team in your FOB (FOB Rubin). The mortar team is hard to locate as they never fire from the same place twice and hides the mortars during the day. ISI has also exploited their advantage by conducting shows of force as little as a few hundred meters from your FOB.

Command has ordered your platoon (Zulu-Alpha) to move out of your FOB and find where the Mortars are stored in the Green Zone by taking advantage of our network of informants in the zone and while on the mission to conduct a show of force and push ISI back

A. Enemy Forces: ISI forces infantry spread out for harassment purposes (as snipers or lone infantry in buildings) with the purpose of slowing down the progress of any attacking force and attack teams of around 8 infantry that counter-attack in reaction to an advance. They have also made use of IEDs and several HMGs.

There are reports of a few technicals, but their presence is unlikely as they have not been confirmed.

B. Friendly Forces: Zulu-Alpha is located at FOB Rubin.

C. Civilian Presence: There is a heavy civilian presence. They have a neutral attitude to both ISI and US forces.

1. Find and destroy the ISI mortars.
2. Conduct a show of force in the Green Zone in the areas of your search.

3. Execution

1. There are 4 informants in the Green Zone that Command wants you to use to find the mortars. Their names and locations of their homes are marked on your map.
