Description:

1. SITUATION

Situation Time: 16:00hrs

Weather: Partly cloudy, unlimited visibility

The Russian 5th Guard armoured regiment is holding the Northern end of Takistan and is in control of Rasman and Rasman AFB, along with the surrounding oil fields

The US Army 11th Armoured Cavalry Regiment has begun its assault on the 5th Guards; however, the 5th Guards are well entrenched, supplied and have ample artillery support and an air defence umbrella.

Their eastern flank at the mountains near Garmsar, however, is lightly defended, and their supply lines, command elements and supply bases are suspected to be located North of those mountains in the plains South of Zavarak.

Due to their air defence umbrella, drones have not been able to penetrate the area.

Zulu company, Alpha platoon is tasked with penetrating that flank on foot and gaining eyes on the sensitive rear of the 5th guards in order to call upon artillery and air support to destroy their sensitive assets.

A. Enemy Forces: There is a motorised infantry platoon from the 5th Guards guarding the mountains North of Garmsar, and they are finely spread out among those mountains, so penetration should be achievable without much difficulty. The 5th guards can call upon reinforcements if they feel threatened and will likely search the mountains as soon as they come under artillery attack.

The plains South of Zavarak are protected by an air defence umbrella that will have to be weakened or destroyed before CAS can be used in the area.

They also have artillery radar that can be used to direct counter battery fire on our own artillery, which will limit its use.

B. Friendly Forces:  Zulu-Alpha based in AFB Loy Manara. An MLRS battery is available to you; however, after they fire their first shots, they will only be available for 10 minutes, in order to avoid counter-battery fire.

C. Civilian Presence:  The local population has mostly evacuated the area but the few remaining will want to avoid any interactions with either side.

2. Mission

1. Find and destroy enemy rear elements:
   1. Find and destroy at least one enemy artillery battery
   2. Find and destroy at least one enemy HQ element
   3. Find and destroy at least one enemy supply base
2. Destroy targets of opportunity, such as supply convoys

3. Execution

1. LZ-1 at Garmsar has been secured by a friendly mechanised section, so it is recommended to insert there.
2. It is recommended that you get eyes on the target area without attracting any attention.
3. Remember that the MLRS battery will only be available for 10 minutes after they fire their first shot.
