Description:

1. SITUATION

Situation Time: 19:15hrs

Lighting: Sunset, Full moon.

Weather: Overcast with rain. Expected to clear up over the first hour.

Rebel forces have occupied the town of Le Port and the surrounding region, capturing old Warsaw Pact equipment from the small, ill-equipped Malden defence force. The rebel forces have designated the town of Le Port at an independent state and are reinforcing their position. There are pro-government civilians that are fighting back, who have formed paramilitary teams that are attempting to hold parts of the town.

The Malden government having no military force to speak of left, has called for US assistance and have provided evidence that the rebels are Russian-backed. Due to the likelihood that this is due to a foreign intervention, the US government has agreed to send a COIN task force consisting mainly of Zulu Company, Alpha platoon.

A. Enemy Forces: There is a sizable force of rebels equipped mainly with small arms and who have set up prepared defences in the town. They are not equipped for night operations and are preoccupied with fighting pro-government paramilitary forces, however, they have managed to capture several static weapons, including at least one ZU-23 and several light vehicles. Small amounts of other types of military assets are also probable

B. Friendly Forces:  Zulu-Alpha based out of FARP Pegasus, which is on an island off of the North East coast of Malden.

4) Fixed Wing: 1x A10D Thunderbolt II

5) Rotary Wing: 1x CH-47I, 2x MH-6M

6) Naval: None

Other friendly forces: The pro-government paramilitary forces are aware of our mission and will be friendly to us. They will mark their positions with Blue smoke.

C. Civilian Presence:  There are civilians trapped in the town and are expected to be neutral.

2. Mission

1. Clear the town of Le Port of rebel forces while minimising civilian casualties.

3. Execution

1. Be mindful the hostile area of Le Port marked by the red circle likely contains at least one ZU-23 and plan insertion and CAS accordingly
2. Avoid friendly fire with the pro-government paramilitary forces.
