Campaign WARNORD:

Situation

Bozcaada, a Civilized Turkish island boasts a well established government with an organized Turkish military backbone.  A liberal democracy ruled by Turkish President João Goulart recently suffered a political defeat to newly elected Governor Paulo Aksoy and stands to lose political power despite having an established network of government officials and military leaders. The Turkish army has plotted a military coup against the holding government to prevent a change of power. The economy is holding strong despite fears that the increased military action will have an adverse effect on the local market. The citizens from Bozcaada are from different ethnic groups traveled from all over the world and have their own ways to respond to the situation at hand.

João Goulart, a well respected man has gracefully accepted the defeat but power hungry & corrupt officials within the military ranks have captured him and are puppeteering him into reckless and dangerous decisions. Seeing that he wants to do the honorable thing and hand over power, The main plan, which is extensively being discussed within UN for an all out war with the Turkish military and the weight of lives lost and collateral damages leaves a big window of opportunity for the military coup to impose martial law scenario. The US Army has decided to send Zulu-Company Alpha platoon as a contingency plan to impose and act as a security element. Our objective is see that power is transferred peacefully and to destabilize the military coup element but not defeat it, The UN doesn’t want a martial law scenario to unfold.

The current Turkish government has been drawn into negotiations with the US and has allowed Zulu-Alpha to occupy the land, the military coup having learned from our discussions has increased their military actions do not expect to be welcomed with open arms

The military coup, being on full alert has deployed all of their assets, fortunately satellite imagery over Bozcaada orbiting at 25 000 feet took a high res image of heat signatures and sent HQ the deployment of enemy assets.

Enemy

The Turkish army is a western trained and equipped force made up of a single mixed, self supported battalion of approximately 300 men. Their assets are comprised of:

4 x UH60 Rotary Squadrons (Their Pride called “Turkish Blue Berets” (TBB’s))

4 x Mechanized Infantry squads (Consisting of 4x M113A3 and supporting infantry)

4 x Motorized Infantry sections (Consisting of 8x M2 Land Rover techinals and supporting infantry)

2 x Motorized AT Infantry sections (Consisting of 4x M2 Land Rover techinals and supporting infantry)

1 x Armour Platoon (Consisting of 4x T72 Tanks)

Various supporting logistics and Resupply Vehicles

The coup also has minimal naval force and have pulled all resources inland after they learnt of US intentions.

The Turkish Army is loyal to it’s Generals and is under the command of Hulusi Akar for the moment. Their goal is to overthrow the government and to destabilize the power transition and to be seen as a strong political force in the eyes of the people. It will therefore want to avoid open tribal warfare and open warfare with the US, but is still willing to defend the country’s pride by resisting perceived US aggression.

The Turkish army hold keys areas including military compounds, airfields and major metropolitan areas and boasts an formidable air-force and anti-air capabilities, therefore initial operations will be conducted by infantry units.

Zulu Company, Alpha-Platoon is currently stationed on aircraft carrier “Independence” with all assets for the rest of the campaign.

The assets will remain on the carrier and will only be made available once HQ has determined that a strategic, defensible FOB has been established.

Within the outlying villages, some civilians have learned about our cause and have create rebel groups to assists the US in the operation. Intelligence about their abilities are limited, but expect them to operate within the campaign.

1. Protect citizens.
2. Destabilize the Coup by eliminating the Turkish General Hulusi Akar with his Subordinates. there are 3 generals under his command, names unknown.
3. Rescue João Goulart.

Mission WARNORD: OPERATION BROTHER’S PUNCH

Scheduled for Sunday 26 March 2017

Description:

1. SITUATION

Situation Time: 17:30hrs

Lighting: Dusk, Last light 18h40,

Weather: Clear, Unlimited Visibility.

Following Operation Brother’s Fort, ZA has secured a corner of the island and opened up an air corridor onto the island, thus allowing all supplies and US forces in the region free access to the island. Now command has ordered the destruction of the “Turkish Blue Berets” (TBB’s), located at the airbase, code-named Micheal. This will diminish the offensive capacity of the enemy, forcing them into a defensive posture and allowing unmolested movement of friendly forces on the island. This will also prepare us for a future operation.

It is HQ’s intention to also minimize unnecessary destruction of Turkish military assets and infrastructure

A. Enemy Forces: Defending AFB Micheal, are the remnants of their tank platoon, now of section strength, expected to be in a defensive posture and the same is true for a mechanized infantry section. There are rear guard infantry of approximately platoon strength providing security and garrisoning the AFB. There is also a motorized infantry section at the AFB which may act as a QRF. There are reports of an anemy SF platoon also stationed at the AFB.

An enemy motorized infantry Company is located at FOB Joe (codename)

B. Friendly Forces:  US forces at previous OBJ LIfeline position (now FOB Lifeline), including all assets and supplies.
