1. SITUATION

There has been much unrest in Sahrani, with recent outbreaks of anti-government violence from several factions. The president, Juan Benito, wants to give a speech in the town of Ortego, where his presidential palace is located in a show of strength.

The president is concerned about betrayal from within his own ranks and has asked the US to provide personal security. Since the US is supporting the government and already has troops on the ground in the form of Ranger Zulu Company Alpha platoon providing training and advice to the Royal Army Corps of Sahrani (RACS).

A. Enemy Forces: No enemy contact is expected, however, this would be a good opportunity to assassinate the president, so an assassination attempt or a conventional attack would make sense for any insurgents. There is no large enemy conventional force in Sahrani that would oppose the government, so if there is an enemy insurgent attack, it would come in the form of irregular forces with small arms and guerrilla tactics.

B. Friendly Forces: ZA is located at FOB Spades, which is right next to the presidential mansion. Local police forces have secured a route to the podium and will control the town as a hole. Other US forces in the form of logistical support are located at AFB Diamonds to the North West end of Sahrani, including helicopter transport, which will only be provided when HQ deems fit. The RACS is providing security for both FOB Spades and AFB Diamonds and for the mansion itself.

3) Ground Vehicles: 2x SUV, 1x Armed SUV at FOB. Several HMMWVs available at AFB Diamonds

6) Naval: None

Other friendly forces: Police performing roadblocks along the route to the podium, RACS at FOB and AFB providing security, and 1x Chinook at AFB Diamonds, Callsign Rodeo, use Support tablet to communicate

C. Civilian Presence: The town of Ortego is generally supportive of the president and has numerous civilians going about their day.

2. Mission

1. Protect the president in order to enable him to give his speech at the podium and return him to the mansion safely.

3. General Instructions

1. Use the route prepared by the local police
2. There will be large crowds at the podium, so avoid firing indiscriminately at civilians if there is contact there.

4. Specific Instructions

To communicate with the Rodeo one, use the combat support tablet.
