Operation Bushwacker

Description:

1. SITUATION

Situation Time: 04:30 hrs

Lighting: Dawn

Weather: Partly cloudy, Unlimited visibility.

A Crate containing 6 Strela  launchers donated to the Afghan National Army (ANF) from the US Army was recently stolen by the Taliban from an  ANF outpost last night. Contact our informant (Ishmael Yusufzai) and find out where  the crate was moved and destroy it before the Taliban can use the missiles.

A. Enemy Forces: The Taliban has been quiet in the past few months and intelligence believes this is due to a shortage of equipment and fighters, as those assets may have been deployed elsewhere in more strategically important areas.

The recent raiding of the ANF supply post was uncharacteristic of recent Taliban behavior and may be an act of desperation.

The area immediately North of 04 Northing is lightly occupied by Taliban forces of an approximately under strength platoon size of irregular infantry with small arms only.

There has been a light use of IEDs, though they don’t backup their IEDs with any ambushes.

 

B. Friendly Forces: US Army presence is minimal and Dragon are part of that token force in order to act as a backup force for emergency situations such as this one. Your platoon is situated at FOB Bashir and has a small ANF security force and limited air and artillery assets. Dragon has no organic lift in the form of Ghostrider available, however Rodeo has made one of it’s CH47Fs available.

3) Ground Vehicles: 3x Mastiff PPV LMG, 2x HEMMT (Repair, Medical), 1x UGV

4) Fixed Wing: None

5) Rotary Wing: None

6) Naval: None

Other friendly forces: Small team of ANF guards, US Army artillery battery call-sign Haymaker, which is to be used in emergencies only and a CH47F call-sign Rodeo One.

C. Civilian Presence: There is a small civilian presence throughout the theater. The civilian population is expected to be neutral and going about their daily lives.

 

2. Mission

1. Find and destroy the US Army crate containing 6 Strela launchers
2. Perform a show of force in the village of Anar

3. Execution

1. Make contact with our informant named Ishmael Yusufzai and see if he knows where the crate is
   

   

   1. Expect him to be located in either one of the 3 houses marked on your maps

Haymaker is made available to you only in the event of an emergency.

Rodeo One is available to provide air lift

B. MEDICAL SUPPORT

ZA Handles medical support internally.

C. LOGISTICAL SUPPORT

Resupply crates are located at the motor pool.
