Operation Straw Wall

Description:

1. SITUATION

Situation Time: 03:20 hrs

Lighting: Dawn

Weather: Partly cloudy, Unlimited visibility.

The ChDKZ (a hostile, well equipped militia) has blockaded the MSR between the two main towns along the river of Bystrica. The ChDKZ are hoping to isolate coalition forces in the main population centers and control the country side. Command want’s to clear the blockade and in the process conduct a show of force.

A. Enemy Forces: The ChDKZ Militia has set up at least 2 roadblocks along the MSR between FOB Percival and OBJ Authur and have set up MG nests on dominating positions over-watching the MSR on both sides of the river. There are also some old WW2 era bunkers that may also be in use by the ChDKZ. The enemy is expected to be approximately an under strength infantry company with HMGs, light AT and several technicals. They are using IEDs along the part of the MSR that they control in order to prevent a convoy from rushing through.

The ChDKZ are expected to hold their positions in the event of an attack.

 

B. Friendly Forces: Dragon is situated at FOB Percival, to the East of the ChDKZ positions. Ghostrider and Reaper are located at FARP Merlin at the NE end of the theatre.

1) Equipment: Standard NATO equipment at start.

2) Surveillance: Micro UAV

3) Ground Vehicles: 1x Mastiff PPV HMG, 1x Mastiff PPV GMG, 4x unarmed Prowler, 5x HEMMT (Ammo, 2x Repair, Fuel, Medical), 1x UGV

4) Fixed Wing: 1x AV-8B Harrier II (MK82)

5) Rotary Wing: 1x CH-47I, 1x AH6M-M

6) Naval: 2x RHIB

Other friendly forces: Czech republic forces are occupying the main population centers at OBJ Authur and FOB Percival and will be providing security for those areas.

C. Civilian Presence: There is a small civilian presence throughout the theatre. The civilian population is expected to be neutral and going about their daily lives.

 

2. Mission

1. Clear MSR Camelot of ChDKZ roadblocks and over-watch positions in order to enable safe transit along the MSR.
   1. Make sure the MSR is clear of all IEDs.

3. Execution

1. The CO has fixed and rotary wing CAS available, as well as MASTIFF MRAPs and RHIBs to complete the objective.
2. The main towns are safe and controlled by Czech forces.
