April 24, 2016 at 18:53 #5924
Scheduled for Sunday the 24th of April
Description:
1. SITUATION
Situation Time: 06:17 hrs
Lighting: Already Day light
Weather: Low elevation fog expected to roll in later in the day.
Operation Enduring Liberty has completed it’s primary objectives and now coalition forces are involved in nation building. The Taliban has adapted their tactics by IEDs to conduct asymmetrical warfare against coalition and government forces and police.
Coalition intelligence has narrowed down the primary IED factory in the region to be somewhere that coalition forces call Hill Valley, a Taliban stronghold with many Taliban sympathizers.

Theatre A. Enemy Forces: The Taliban don’t have many vehicles or even heavy weapons left and would not prefer that approach anyway. They prefer smaller hit and run insurgent groups and ambush tactics.
They are expected to have 10 to 20 fighters in Hill valley, but are well entrenched and prepared. There are more fighters outside of Hill Valley, but those fighters are farther away and not expected to interfere in the operation.
B. Friendly Forces: Coalition forces have created an FOB at Al Qalat, just on the Western edge of Hill Valley. involved in this operation is 4th Ranger Battalion, Z company, A platoon (ZA) which sill start at FOB Al Qalat.
1) Equipment: Standard NATO equipment at start.
2) Surveillance: Micro UAV
3) Ground Vehicles: 1x UGV
4) Fixed Wing: None
5) Rotary Wing: None
6) Naval: None.
Other friendly forces: US Army personnel manning M2 Brownings at FOB Al Qalat.
C. Civilian Presence: Civilians occupy all the towns in the Hill Valley and are generally sympathetic to the Taliban.
There is one key exception to that in Dalibor Bednar, who is a Coalition informant that lives in building A’5, and should be contacted during the operation as he may have intelligence on the Talabin and the IED factory.

Clear Hill valley of Taliban forces and find and destroy the suspected IED factory, with minimal friendly casualties and collateral damage.
