1. SITUATION
Situation Time: 05h00L 1 June 2003
Lighting: Dawn
Weather: Clear
A local farmer returning from selling goods at a market in another region was surprised to see a massive assembly of military vehicles next to the highway. Being an ex militarist himself he recognized T55 MBT’s, BMP2’s and a couple of Ural ZU-23’s. There were also many trucks and a hoard of soldiers. He stopped to take a photo but when they started shooting at him he quickly left. He reported the sighting to the local police in Nisul and shared the photo with them. The policeman immediately called the military and reported the sighting. The military, realizing they are vastly undermanned and lacking the technology to take on such a force, requested ZA who is in country as part of NATO forces to assist. MI has approved the mission.

The enemy appears to have arrived via the highway from the NW and has put up camp in the area spotted by the farmer. MI had studied the photo the farmer took and has determined that although the photo did not include the whole camp, main threat consists of a large number of T55’s and BMP-2’s. ZU-23’s will be a threat to direct air assaults’. The soldiers were identified as Taliban.

Zulu-Company, Alpha platoon is stationed at a FOB in the far SW of the region

2. Mission
- Destroy the enemy camp leaving no survivors, including those trying to flee the battleground.
- Avoid collateral damage and civilian casualties in surrounding town

One of the FOB guards have noticed that the Humvee’s contains some additional Maaws and Javelin rounds left over from a previous engagement.
