Description:

1. SITUATION

Situation Time: 02:00 hrs
Weather: Fog forecast, Low Visibility. Cloud Ceiling 2500m, Ground Level 300m

The border skirmishes between Bystrica and Germany have reached a point where peace talks in the France failed and both countries are building towards the inevitable conflict.

As a NATO ally the US has offered the services of the 75th Rangers for special operation actions behind the front lines.

An armour staging point has been identified deep within Bystrica and ZA Ranger Platoon has been tasked with its destruction. Pathfinders that have been inserted into the area for reconnaissance have noted that the vehicles crews are not present with only service crews in the area.

A. Enemy Forces
Enemy forces consist of light infantry with some light armour, and special operations soldier support. They are armed with standard WARSAW pact light arms including AK-47’s and -74’s, RPK’s, SVD’s and RPG’s. There are fortifications around that staging area with emplaced HMG’s. Enemy forces levels are at company size

B. Friendly Forces
ZA Ranger Platoon will be inserted via HALO from 2 USAF c-130’s. All operators will start the mission with standard load-outs. Pathfinders have identified a safe DZ and will mark it with IR strobes just prior to ZA’s insertion. Heavy weapons/Demo, medical and resupply crates have been para-dropped into DZ. The crates include 2 x 82mm Mortars for artillery support.

A Marine CH-53 Super Stallion is standing by on station to extract ZA Ranger Platoon.

C. Civilian Presence:
As this is behind the front lines there are civilians within the AO.
 

2. Mission

To disable or destroy the Bystrican Armed Forces armour located at the staging area at 005005.

The CO may proceed as they see fit.

 

4. Service and Support

A. SUPPORT UNITS
1) Artillery: 2 x MK6 82mm Mortars
2) Aviation: 1 x CH-53 (Alive).
3) Ground Vehicles: NA
4) Boats: NA

B. MEDICAL SUPPORT
ZA is responsible for their own medical requirements.
