Description:

1. SITUATION

Situation Time: 0900 hrs
Weather: Clear, 3Km Visibility

The Pakistani government has unofficially requested US assistance in dealing with the ISIS threat in FATA. This is following on from the discoveries made in Operation Manae US forces have been given permission to enter Pakistan in order to render assistance to the Pakistani government in defeating ISIS in the FATA region. Zulu-Alpha who are already in the area following Manae have been tasked with this mission.

Due to political instability it is not always clear who controls FATA. The area is a Pakistani province but government control is weak as there are several ISIS fundamentalist groups, drug lords, extremist militants etc. Pakistani military forces in the area are of questionable allegiance as seen in Manae as they show allegiance to a different party within the Pakistani government that may or may not have close ties to ISIS.

Civilians in FATA are not aligned to anyone. Due to the unstable nature of the region they are all armed. This makes adherance to the ROE vitally important.

A. Enemy Forces:
Enemy forces consist of ISIS irregular troops carrying light to medium arms, including M4’s, AK47’s and RPK’s. Vehicle suppot may include techinicals and recovered light armour. ISIS troops are absorbed into the locals so it will be difficult to tell the difference between combatants and non-combatants.

B. Friendly Forces:
Friendly forces are stationed at FOB Dublin and will have access to standard loadouts, incl spray paint for building clearance.

1) Aviation: 1 x MELB (CAS), 1 x MELB (Trans), 1 x MH60 (MEV), 1xUH 60 (Trans) 1 X CH47.
2) Ground Vehicles: 3 x RG35 (M2), 1 x RG35 (GL), 2 x HMVVW (Trans), 2 x HMVVW (Med), 4 x HEMMT (Ammo, Repair, Fuel, Ressuply
3) Boats:NA

C. Civilian Presence:
Locals consist of villagers and farmers. All are armed and due to their neutral nature they can be stopped for questioning but under no circustances are they to be engaged.
 

2. Mission

ZA is to undertake a house to house search for ISIS troops, gathering information about their local presence and operations in the area.

3. Execution

The CO may proceed as they see fit.
 

4. Service and Support

A. SUPPORT UNITS
1) Air: ZA has access to a MELB (CAS)

B. MEDICAL SUPPORT
ZA is responsible for their own medical requirements have access to MH-60 MEV, and 2 x HMVVW (Med), own pilot required.
 

5. Command and Signal

Standard ZA radio protocols apply

6. ROE

Only fire if fired upon.
Confirm Targets before engaging.
