Operation Iron Impulse

1. SITUATION

Situation Time: 4:00AM.
Lighting: Morning.
Weather: Clear.

A supporting Section of M1A2’s from Zulu Company Alpha platoon are returning from duty south of Sangin District when they managed to struck a couple of IED’s with damages to the tracks  and some minor damages to the Hull, left are immobilized and with very limited main 120mm ammunition and are relying on their fellow friends back at base to act as QRF with supplies and equipment as well as Engineer to clear mine field around them.

The situation is that although most the main road is cleared and in full control of US troops, HQ has identified three routes that needs to be cleared and be used as a main route to get the full convoy back to base.

A. Enemy: ISIS, unknown force and Strength operating loosely around Bagder and more formal structures along anticipated pathways

B. Friendly Forces: Zulu-Alpha at the airbase.

1) Equipment: Standard equipment and new Resupply crates available at base.

2) Surveillance: None

3) Ground Vehicles: 2 x M2 HMMWV, 1x  Transport HMMWV, 1x Repair HMMWV, 1x Ammo HMMWV, 1x Ambulance HMMWV, 2x M1A2 Abraham Tanks

4) Fixed Wing: None

5) Rotary Wing: None

6) Naval: None
