Description:

1. SITUATION

Situation Time: 03:15hrs

Lighting: Visibility 200m-400m due to the bad sandstorm.

Weather: Dry, Sandstorm.

In recent times, an ineffective effort by Charlie Squad to establish trust by the local Muslim community of Shapur and rising tensions by the Islamic state has manifested a crude environment where the civilian population has started distrusting the US efforts and been siding with ISIS. The situation is somewhat unpredictable as reports from Charlie squad, although somewhat sketchy at times have reported that civilians have been given small arms which the take random potshots at US forces. No confirmed reports have been established if civilians hiding weapons but US HQ has cautioned extreme R.O.E. and to PID targets before engagement…

The civilian population are feeling tense and killing civilians will see them take up a more aggressive stance and arms against the US and in force.

The US has again tried to establish a peace talk with Abu-Shaib Akthar, a well-respected elder within the Muslim community, but refused to take calls. Charlie company was sent in again in a last-ditch effort to negotiate but has ever since been M.I.A. Intel has suspected that the annoyed elder has taken action.

Zulu-Alpha is stationed at the Main airfield and has been instructed by HQ to follow the direct-order and backtrace charlie squads last known route. The severity of the impending duststorm rendered all air assets useless and have been grounded. The US engineers managed in the short amount of time to fit only one search spotlight to a Humvee with a 50.cal and are the only asset available for the mission.

By this time reports have started to stream in that ISIS are mobilizing on the far outskirts of Shapur and smaller singular movements have been seen which HQ believes are possible IED infantry. Unconfirmed at this time.

The mission is simple… Find Charlie, Secure the main MSR,  Gain trust with the elder and evac back to base.

1. The CO may proceed as he sees fit but direct orders from HQ to backtrack and traces Charlie’s last position

Description: FRAGO – OPERATION DOUBLE CROSS

1. SITUATION

UPDATE TIME:  11Hours before deployment

Unconfirmed intel from a couple of civilians who have stated that they don’t wish to side with ISIS has revealed a couple on Humvee’s in a nearby town blown up in exchange for their asylum with their families, HQ believes this to be Charlie Squad’s vehicle. The informants have also stated just before they left, the propaganda from the elder was any interference from the US, hostility will follow… Public displays of arresting civilians will greatly negatively affect the Civ pop and will most definitely spill over into a confrontation

Further intel from these informants has stated that 4 US soldiers have been dragged away alive. possibly the remnants of Charlie squad

IED’s were the root cause of these vehicle explosions masked by the sandstorm of which HQ cautions to take care.

The mission is simple… Find remnants of Charlie, Secure the main MSR,  Gain trust with the elder and evac back to base.
