Operation Border Control

1. SITUATION

Situation Time: 10h37

Weather: Partly cloudy. Light breeze.

Following the unrest in 2014, there has been an ongoing conventional and semi-conventional war taking place of varying degrees in the Crimean and Donbass regions of Ukraine. Despite several attempts at a ceasefire, the conflict constantly sparks up, threatening to ignite the proverbial tinderbox.

Following the breach of the ceasefire six weeks ago, the conflict has escalated to it’s highest levels in years. Kiev, with the support of NATO, is rallying to push hard back into the Donbass region and purge the DPR. This offensive has already begun, spearheaded by Ukrainian mechanized and motorized battalions.

Zulu Company has been tasked with the siege of a DPR Proxy minor airbase. This airbase has been involved in several engagements in the past and remains a thorn in our side.

Alpha platoon, now returned from AFB Kramatorsk, will act as the recon element for Zulu Company, identifying key assets and threats to be destroyed before the rest of Zulu Company moves in for the main assault.

Alpha platoon has been assigned an MQ-12 Falcon UAV armed with AGM Mavericks as well as a UH-60 MEV, both of which are stationed far NE of the operational area at a makeshift outpost.

• Proxy-Russian forces and Russian Supported Guerillas.
• Soviet bloc weapons from Cold-war era to latest issue.
• Access to motorized, mechanized and armored assets.
• Access to mechanized AAA and MANPADS
• Access to Rotary and fixed wing assets

B. Friendly Forces:  

• A contingent of NATO forces.
• Rotary and fixed-wing assets are operating in the area.

• 1 x UH-60M MEV (MEDEVAC)

Other friendly forces: Pro-Ukrainian Militias have been encountered before.

C. Civilian Presence:  Yes. Sympathetic to OPFOR.

2. Mission

1. Establish Recon OP on AFB.
2. Designate and destroy high-risk targets for the main assault.
3. Call in the main assault force (ALiVE Tablet required).
4. Assist in main assault and capture the airbase.

3. Execution

1. The CO may proceed as he sees fit.
