    Intent

Assist and advise Iraqi Army (IA) and Peshmerga RGB (P) to Capture Qayyarah (Kinduf) airfield.

    Situation Report

“ISIS have had months to establish a defensive posture in depth around the airfield. Primarily on the west bank of the Tigris, where they have dug-in with mobile and fixed emplacements.  According to HumInt received from civilians who managed to escape two days ago, The entire riverbank is mined with IED’s all the way North of Orcarif. ISIS have also placed IED’s on the North Bridge and partly blocked off the South bridge with car wrecks. The Small bridge in the far north is also heavily mined and defended. Driving an assault force across the North bridge is deemed to be suicide as it is wide open to enemy fire and detonating the IED’s on the bridge would likely bring the entire structure down. ISR shows Kinduf Factory as another heavily defended installation. Reports of civilians hitting IED’s on the MSR from Shegara to Offar, so our forces can expect sporadic ambushes enroute to Al-Qayyarah”
