Operation Leap Frog

Description:

1. SITUATION

Situation Time: 05:10 hrs

Lighting: Daybreak 06:00hrs, Overcast, No Moon

Weather: Back-end of Typhoon Terrance, Thunderstorms, Extremely dense fog below 40m ASL. Expected to clear as the typhoon passes the island.

After another video of a civilian execution by the Tanoan Arma (TA) that surface on the internet last week, sparked an outright civilian revolt that has been drawing the press’ attention about their cruelty towards the Tanoan civilians, Multiple news agencies have since sent in news reporters to cover the breaking news as it happened and NATO fears that more civilian lives might be at risk.

At about the same time, Typhoon Terrance struck the island of Tanoa and the TA was busy moving their arms and ammunition main supply cache from their main base to an unknown location, presumably a Military installation or to a different secured location. Radar did reveal transportation vehicles at the time stationed at main base with some light skin technicals and Ammo Trucks that formed part of a convoy just before the radar tower got knocked out by the typhoon

Prior, NATO Intel was able to track transportation helicopters and assumes this would’ve been an evacuation procedure for valuable documents together with office staff, Medical personnel and high ranking officers to a Nearby island for the duration of the storm to which NATO believes a temporary command post would of been established. HQ has code name this Area as “TADPOLE”

NATO has tasked Zulu-Alpha to perform quick strike action mission via a HALO insertion into “Objective TADPOLE“ via DZ1 and RP1 as HQ wants to use the thick fog cover to conceal our approach, to obtain any Intel documents, eliminate military personnel but standard R.O.E. should be applied to all non-military personnel.

The Situation is tense with some news reports that civilians have been arming themselves with rebel arms, however this is still unconfirmed but considering the revolt seen by civilians this is to be expected.

CO has a direct order from HQ to study these Intel documents and derive the next mission, of which HQ can only assume to be the destruction of military arms and ammunition to stop the public outcry and to suppress media intervention as civilian lives are still at stake

A. Enemy Forces: Tanoa Army at all given military outpost, main bases and storage facilities. Non-Military personnel are present at some of these area, No fly zone has been identified over the tanoan army main base

B. Friendly Forces: Friendly forces are stationed at FOB Crane.

1) Equipment: Standard NATO equipment at start.

2) Surveillance: None

3) Ground Vehicles: 2x HEMMT (Medical, Repair,), 3x Un-Armed Prowlers

4) Fixed Wing: None

5) Rotary Wing: 1x V44 Blackfish (Infantry), 2x CH47

Other friendly forces: None

C. Civilian Presence:  Expected but only those that have armed themselves, Ordinary Citizen have taken shelter due to the evacuated procedures followed but the Tanoan Government. News reporters that are covering the story.

 

2. Mission

1. Primary – A: HALO drop into Objective “TADPOLE”, Seize the Temporary Command station and locate Intel documents
2. Primary – B: CO are to study the Intel documents to determine the next course of action.
3. Secondary: Execute the CO’s Decision for Objective “FROG” from gathered Intel. – Once CO has determined “FROG’s” location

3. Executions

The CO are to proceed as he sees fit, with the exception to HALO drop, as this is a must due to the strategic advantage, CO has also the option to RTB and resupply or to Field Resupply as he sees fit.
