Hi guys phizit here.
Ive been a BF fan boy since 2005 . What drew me to the BF series was the teamwork element of the game.
Over the years that thirst developed and I started playing paintball with two of my friends. We took the milsim side of the sport quite seriously and through contacts managed to go through some basic (Very basic stuff like fire and maneuver, room clearance, hand signals etc) training with some police trainers at Faure which was pretty cool. Had us walking all over guys on Sundays. Sadly we stopped playing around 2010 as the sport became too expensive.
I started playing the DayZ stand alone with two friends and I was instantly hooked on the game play. People have been telling me to get into the ARMA 3 scene for a few months now but I have been a bit reluctant as I knew very little about the game. Met Kilroy today and he guided me to Zulu-Alpha.
Ive checked out some of the vids on youtube and I am quite interested in what I have seen. The only problem now is that I am committed to playing in the winter leg of the 2014 DGL for BF4 which I intend to finish.
So I was maybe wondering if I could get in and now and try get the rank of Candidate. Once I have completed that would there be a time limit for me to then reach the rank of private? Obviously while I am at the rank of Candidate I will join in on social days where I can to get a better feel for the game and get to know more of the community.
March 26, 2014 at 16:25 #3381Hey Dude, was nice chatting to you today.
I suppose the question is how long is the winter league of the DGL, and how much of your time is it going to take up and when. As i mentioned before our official days are each Sunday (for missions) and every second Tuesday (for training) and you are more than welcome to join us on off nights and get a taste for what it is that we do.
Re candidacy etc i think someone in HQ is going to have to answer that for you, but is suspect that the trick would be to do selection etc when you find the time, with selection happening on Monday evening when there is a sufficiently sized group.
We enjoy the game and we always welcome new blood 🙂
March 26, 2014 at 20:26 #3383Well winter leg should start in about two months or so. We are going into playoffs now though which should be another 8 weeks(I assume). Winter leg usually finishes around November if I’m not mistaken. This is my first DGL. But gaming wise it is something that I want to complete and have under my belt. I will have to see now if I can manage to fit Arma into this. But first I’m going to wait for the steam sale or I’ll get impatient and buy it off the website for R380.
But other than that I think I will definitely be taking BF to a social level next year and I’m keen to get into the milsim action you guys are offering here. I really like the sound of your campaigns and how they work.
March 28, 2014 at 08:08 #3384Howdy phiz,
When you get the game can hop on Thursdays or over weekend to join in the more casual missions.
That should get you more familiar with A3 and our game style until you finish the DGL.
The candidate role is given when you take part and pass selection, from there you do the indoctrine and first training intro into how we operate, and once you have undergone basic training and have a couple missions under your belt you get ranked to Private.
As a former Battlefield veteran, I can vouch there is no backing to it once you play this 😀
March 28, 2014 at 10:55 #3387Yeah I can believe it

Yeah I can believe that! Studies must come first this month with the finances. So I’m looking at getting the game early May. Then I’ll come join you guys on a Thursday or on the weekends until I can put some proper time into the game which I intend to do by the end of this year.
As for now I will continue to satisfy my thirst by watching the missions that have been uploaded on your youtube.
Edit: Good news the 2014 DGL should be done by October.
